WHEAT

- Jul 14 - Japan seeks 180,714 MT of food wheat for August 21-September 20 shipment:

  • 29,300 MT of western white US wheat;
  • 28,580 MT of hard red winter US wheat;
  • 33,150 MT of dark northern spring US wheat;
  • 61,034 MT of Canadian western red spring wheat;
  • 28,650 MT of Australian standard white wheat for November shipment

- Jul 12 - Egypt's GASC seeks an unspecified amount of wheat from global suppliers for August 10-20 shipment

- Egyptian government gazette on Monday said the country begins applying the international standard for ergot (up to 0.05%) in wheat shipments as of Tuesday, July 12

- Jul 11 - Argentina grants export licenses for 40,000 MT of milling wheat

- USDA estimated 66% of the US winter wheat crop was harvested as of July 10, ahead of last year's pace of 62% and 5-year mean of 65%, but behind analysts' forecasts of 70% (67-75% – range)

- USDA estimated 70% spring wheat crop good to excellent as of July 10, down 2% points from prior week and compared to 71% a year-ago, below analysts' average expectation of 72%

- US wheat export inspections for week, ending July 7, recorded 375,279 MT, below the market forecasts (400-600 TMT). Inspections for 2016/17 are running 41% ahead of year-ago

- Sovecon raised its forecast for Russia's 2016 wheat crop to 66.1 MMT from previously expected 64.4 MMT; the total grain crop forecast was raised to 108.8 MMT from 106.9 MMT previously

- Russia plans this fall to begin significant wheat exports to China from four Siberian grain regions

- Russian farmers harvested 9.77 MMT of wheat from 7.8% of the planned area as of July 11, up from 6.85 MMT a year ago. Yields totaled 4.54 mt/ha up from 3.75 mt/ha a year ago

- Ukrainian farmers harvested 2.52 MMT of wheat from 11% of the planned area as of July 11, up from 1.92 MMT a year ago. Yields totaled 3.67 mt/ha up from 3.31 mt/ha a year ago

- Kazakh farmers harvested 167,000 MT of all grains as of July 12, up from 117,500 MT a year ago. Yields totaled 2.01 mt/ha up from 1.53 mt/ha a year ago

- China's statistics bureau said China's summer grain output in 2016 fell 1.2% from a year earlier to 139.26 MMT

- AHDB said wheat plantings in Britain declined 2% this season

CORN

- Jul 11 - Argentina grants export licenses for 26,250 MT of corn

- US corn export inspections for week, ending July 7, reported 1,357,903 MT, topped the market forecasts (1.0-1.3 MMT). Inspections for 2015/16 are running 4% behind year-ago

- USDA rated 76% of the US corn crop in good-to-excellent condition as of July 10, up 1% point from the previous week and compared to 69% a year-ago, ahead of market expectations of 75% (73-76% – range)

- Russian farmers harvested 2.29 MMT of barley from 6.7% of the planned area as of July 11, up from 2.05 MMT a year ago. Yields totaled 4.08 mt/ha down from 4.05 mt/ha a year ago

- Ukrainian farmers harvested 3.32 MT of barley from 35% of the planned area as of July 11, up from 2.44 MMT a year ago. Yields totaled 3.36 mt/ha up from 3.03 mt/ha a year ago

- AHDB said spring barley area in Britain rose 6% while winter barley plantings fell by 4% this season

- ChemChina extends its $43 billion take-over offer for Syngenta until at least September 13

SOYBEAN

- Jul 11 - Argentina grants export licenses for 12,231 MT of soybean oil

- US soybean export inspections for week, ending July 7, reported 374,016 MT, above the trade forecasts that ranged from 150,000 to 350,000 MT. Inspections for the 2015/16 marketing year are running 7.1% behind year-ago

- USDA rated 71% of the US soybean crop in good to excellent condition as of July 10, up from 70% the previous week and compared to 62% a year-ago, above analysts' expectations of 70% (68-71% – range)

- Safras & Mercado says Brazilian farmers have sold 82% of the 2015/16 soybean crop versus 76% last year and 79% 5-year average pace. Also they estimate some 13% of the expected 2016/17 Brazil soy harvest has been forward sold compared to the 15% in the year earlier period

- MPOB estimated Malaysian crude palm oil production in June at 1.53 MMT vs. average expectation of 1.51 MMT and 1.36 MMT in May with end-stocks at 1.78 MMT up 7.7% on month and near to the average market expectation of 1.77 MMT. Malaysian June palm oil exports fell to 1.13 MMT, down 11.7% on month and below the average expectation of 1.22 MMT

- Ukrainian farmers harvested 249,000 MT of rapeseed from 19% of the planned area as of July 11, down from 304,000 MT a year ago. Yields totaled 2.44 mt/ha up from 2.08 mt/ha a year ago

- Russian farmers harvested 72,300 MT of rapeseed from 3.7% of the planned area as of July 11, down from 108,400 MT a year ago. Yields totaled 1.93 mt/ha up from 1.54 mt/ha a year ago
