WHEAT

- Jul 6 - Japan bought 29,090 MT of feed wheat for December 28 arrival via SBS-tender. New SBS tender for 120,000 MT of feed wheat and 200,000 MT of feed barley will be held on July 13

- USDA estimated 62% of the US winter wheat crop good to excellent (G/E) as of July 3, unchanged from a week earlier and compared to 40% a year-ago, as expected. Harvesting of US winter wheat crop was 58% completed as of July 3, ahead of last year's pace of 50% and 5-year mean of 55%, but slightly behind analysts' forecasts of 59% (55-63% – range)

- USDA estimated 72% spring wheat crop good to excellent as of July 3, unchanged from prior week and compared to 70% a year-ago, above analysts' average expectation of 71%

- US wheat export inspections for week, ending June 30, recorded 560,598 MT, topped the market forecasts (350-550 TMT). Inspections for 2016/17 are running 40.8% ahead of year-ago

- Jul 5 - China sold 200 MT out of the 2.505 MMT of reserved wheat produced between 2009 and 2014 offered at auction

- Rosselkhoznadzor estimated Russian grain exports between Jul 1-5, 2016/17 at 219,760 MT (incl. 89,770 MT of wheat and 78,560 MT of barley)

- IKAR sees Russia's 2016 wheat crop at 65-66 MMT versus 61 MMT in 2015

- Russian farmers harvested 6.99 MMT of all grains as of July 5, up from 4.53 MMT a year ago. Yields totaled 4.27 mt/ha up from 3.87 mt/ha a year ago

- Ukrainian farmers harvested 558,800 MT of wheat from 2% of the planned area as of July 5, up from 273,900 MT a year ago. Yields totaled 3.72 mt/ha up from 3.2 mt/ha a year ago

- Strategie Grains pegged the upcoming French wheat crop at 36.5 MMT, down 2.0 MMT from the previous outlook. The group lowered the country's expected average yield to 6.98 mt/ha from last month's 7.38 mt/ha

CORN

- Jul 5 - Argentina grants export licenses for 31,500 MT of sorghum

- Dr. Michael Cordonnier adopted USDA's harvested acreage figure for US corn of 86.5 million acres and left his yield projection unchanged at 165 bpa, resulting in a 14.27-billion-bu crop (13.99 billion bu last week)

- US corn export inspections for week, ending June 30, reported 1,164,887 MT, within the market forecasts (1.0-1.3 MMT). Inspections for 2015/16 are running 5% behind year-ago

- USDA rated 75% of the US corn crop in good-to-excellent condition as of July 3, unchanged from the previous week and compared to 69% a year-ago, ahead of market expectations of 74% (72-76% - range)

- Ukrainian farmers harvested 1.879 MT of barley from 19% of the planned area as of July 5, up from 1.196 MMT a year ago. Yields totaled 3.47 mt/ha up from 3.11 mt/ha a year ago

SOYBEAN

- Jul 5 - Argentina grants export licenses for 30,000 MT of soymeal and 8,625 MT of soybean oil

- Dr. Michael Cordonnier adopted USDA's harvested acreage projection for US soybeans of 83.0 million acres and left his yield projection unchanged at 46.7 bpa, for a total production at 3.87 billion bushels (3.9 billion bu last week)

- US soybean export inspections for week, ending June 30, reported 191,426 MT, below the trade forecasts that ranged from 200,000 to 400,000 MT. Inspections for the 2015/16 marketing year are running 7.6% behind year-ago

- USDA rated 70% of the US soybean crop in good to excellent condition, down from 72% the previous week and compared to 63% a year-ago, slightly behind analysts' expectations of 71% (70-73% – range)

- USDA attaché projects Bulgaria's 2016/17 sunflower crop at 1.85 MMT, slightly down from USDA's official projection of 1.9 MMT, but up from 1.71 MMT in 2015/16

- Russian farmers harvested 51,600 MT of rapeseed as of July 5, down from 61,800 MT a year ago. Yields totaled 2.0 mt/ha up from 1.45 mt/ha a year ago

- Ukrainian farmers harvested 85,900 MT of rapeseed from 7% of the planned area as of July 5, up from 80,600 MT a year ago. Yields totaled 2.27 mt/ha up from 1.8 mt/ha a year ago

- India's oilmeal exports fell 48% from a year ago to 88,514 MT in June (169,699 MT in June 2015). India's export of oilmeals during April-Jun 2016/17 dropped 61% to 186,293 MT compared to 473,676 MT during the same period of last year

- India exported 2,672 MT of soybean meal in June vs. 1,015 MT a month ago and 2,098 MT a year ago. India's Apr-Jun 2016/17 soymeal exports at 5,129 MT vs. 34,161 MT a year ago
