WHEAT

- Jul 7 - Taiwan Flour Millers' Association seeks 106,290 MT of US milling wheat

- Glencore is loading 70,000 MT of British feed wheat for Vietnam in early July

- Algeria last week bought 300,000 MT of optional origin milling wheat for September shipment, less than initial talk of 450,000-500,000 MT. Likely passed on French due to quality concerns

- Weekly US wheat export sales data for week ended June 23 totalled 645,300 MT for 2016/17 (topped trade expectations of 300-600 TMT). Export commitments for 2016/17 are running 30% ahead of year-ago to start the season

- USDA said US all-wheat plantings totaled 50.816 million acres, topping analysts' forecasts for 49.869 million and the agency's March estimate of 49.559 million

- USDA pegged US June 1 wheat stocks at 981 million bushels, as expected (982 - average market expectation, 953-1000 – range)

- EU in week ended June 28 granted licenses to export 489 TMT of soft wheat, bringing the total this season to 31.149 MMT vs. 31.033 MMT a year ago

- FranceAgriMer said 65% of soft wheat crops were in good and excellent condition as of June 27, down 6% points from last week and below the year-earlier score of 77%; durum rating at 55% in good to excellent vs. 69% last week and vs. 78% a year ago. French farmers harvested 6% of the durum as of June 27 vs. 1% a week ago and 15% a year ago

- Kazakh Ag Min said Kazakhstan exported 8.369 MMT of grain between July 1-Jun 30, 2015/16 vs. 6.444 MMT a year ago, incl. flour – 2.948 MMT in wheat equivalent vs. 2.393 MT in the same period of 2014/15

- Russian farmers harvested 4.3 MMT of all grains as of June 30, up from 1.6 MMT a year ago. Yields totalled 4.26 mt/ha up from 3.74 mt/ha a year ago

- Ukrainian farmers harvested 109,300 MT of winter wheat as of June 30, up from 10,100 MT a year ago. Yields totalled 3.75 mt/ha up from 3.16 mt/ha a year ago

- Argentina in June grants export licenses for 242,432 MT of low protein wheat and milling wheat; and 50,899 MT of wheat flour

- Buenos Aires Grain Exchange kept Argentina's 2016/17 wheat acreage unchanged from last week at 4.5 mln ha (3.6 mln ha in 2015/16). Exchange estimates 61.6% of the crop has been planted as of June 30 vs. 69.5% this time last year

- Jul 5 - China will auction off 2.533 MMT of reserved wheat produced between 2009 and 2014

- Jul 6 - China will auction off 48 TMT of imported wheat

- Jun 28 - The lowest offer in a tender from Iraq to buy at least 30,000 MT of long grain rice was 405.00 $/mt c&f free out for rice from Thailand. The lowest offers from other sources are: 429 $/mt from India; 455 $/mt from Vietnam; 504 $/mt from Argentina; 504.75 $/mt from Uruguay; 573.5 $/mt from the US. The tender closed on June 28 with offers having to remain valid until July 3

- Indonesia's unmilled rice production in 2015 was 75.40 MMT, up from 70.85 MMT in 2014 – statistics bureau

- Philippines, one of the world's biggest rice buyers, could start exporting the grain within the next six years

CORN

- Jun 30 - USDA announced export sales of 120,400 MT of US corn to Mexico for delivery during 2016/17 (80,265 MT) and 2017/18 (40,135 MT)

- Weekly US corn export sales data for week ended June 23 of 1,004,600 MT, incl. 468,500 MT for 2015/16 (below trade expectations of 700-1000 TMT) and 536,100 MT for 2016/17 (above trade forecasts of 300-450 TMT). Total current marketing-year US corn export sales are 3% ahead the same point last year

- USDA estimated US corn seedings at 94.148 million acres, the third highest since 1944, up 7% from last year and above the high end of analysts' estimates

- USDA said US corn inventories as of June 1 were the biggest since 1988 at 4.722 billion bushels, above trade expectations for 4.528 billion bushels (4.437-4.65 – range)

- Brazil's Ag Min will suspend an auction of 500,000 MT of corn from public stocks as prices fell 25% in past month as 2-nd harvest advances

- EU in week ended June 24 awarded licenses to import 35,843 MT of Ukrainian barley under an annual duty-free quota, bringing the total to 76,792 MT or 30.7% out of a total volume of 250,000 MT available in 2016

- EU in week ended June 28 awarded 80 TMT of corn (maize) import certificates, taking the volume so far this season to 13.163 MMT vs. 9.121 MMT a year ago

- EU in week ended June 28 granted licenses to export 37 TMT of corn, bringing the total this season to 1.88 MMT vs. 3.556 MMT a year ago

- EU in week ended June 28 granted licenses to export 390 TMT of barley, bringing the total this season to 10.099 MMT vs. 8.66 MMT a year ago

- FranceAgriMer said 62% of France's winter barley crops were in good to excellent condition as of June 27, down 5% points on the prior week and below the year-ago score of 86%. Spring barley rating was at 71% in good to excellent vs. 76% a week ago and vs. 73% a year ago. Harvesting of winter barley was now under way, with 3% of the crop cut by June 27, well below the 35% harvest progress a year ago

- FranceAgriMer estimated France's corn condition as 68% in good to excellent, down 1% point on the prior week and below the year-ago score of 81%. Corn seeding was finally completed

- Ukrainian farmers harvested 1.06 MT of barley as of June 30, up from 540,800 MT a year ago. Yields totalled 3.56 mt/ha up from 3.13 mt/ha a year ago

- Argentina issues 325,819 MT of corn export licenses in June

- Argentina in June grants export licenses for 129,600 MT of barley and 17,600 MT of malt

SOYBEAN

- Weekly US soybean export sales data for week ended June 23 of 1,528,000 MT, incl. 730,000 MT for 2015/16 (within trade expectations of 500-800 TMT) and 798,000 MT for 2016/17 (within trade expectations of 600-800 TMT). Total current marketing-year US soybean export sales are running steady with the same point last year

- USDA estimated that farmers planted a record 83.688 million soybean acres, above the government's March forecast of 82.236 million but below analysts' estimates for 83.834 million

- USDA pegged US June 1 soybean stocks at 870 million bushels, the third-biggest ever and above trade expectations for 829 million (775-862 – range)

- EIA said US April biodiesel production at 119 million gallons vs. 120 million gallons in March and vs. 108 million gallons a year ago
