WHEAT

- Bangladesh delays wheat tender to import 50,000 tons of wheat. The tender will open on Jan 6 instead of Jan 4 and will be valid until Jan 19 from Jan 15 earlier

- Dec 23 - Glencore made the lowest offer of 280.87 $/t cif to sell 50,000 tons of wheat to Bangladesh in a tender

- Dec 23 - Taiwan bought 78,320 tons of US milling wheat for Feb-Mar shipment

- Dec 21-25 - Iraq bought 200,000 tons of hard wheat:

  • 100,000 tons of Canadian wheat at 331.65 $/t c&f free out (ciffo)

- China to hold special state grain sales to help decide 2015 import quotas. Jan 6-8 auctions the government will offer 2 MMT of wheat, 4 MMT of short-grain rice and 4 MMT of long-grain rice as well as 5 MMT of corn from state reserves

- Dec 20 - GASC bought 300,000 tons of French, Russian wheat for shipment January 21-31:

  • 60 KMT of French wheat from Granit at 274.99 $/t c&f (258.69 $/t fob plus $16.3 freight from National Navigation Company)
  • 60 KMT of French wheat from Glencore at 273.64 $/t c&f (258.69 $/t fob plus $14.95 freight from Glencore)
  • 60 KMT of French wheat from Cargill at 272.62 $/t c&f (258.30 $/t fob plus $14.32 freight from Mina Egypt)
  • 60 KMT of French wheat from Lecureur at 275.95 $/t c&f (258.30 $/t fob plus $15.15 freight from Mina Dubai + 2.5 $/t for shipment from two ports)
  • 60 KMT of Russian wheat from Union Co. at 275.03 $/t c&f (263.60 $/t fob plus $11.43 freight from National Navigation Company)

GASC has bought 2.905 MMT (1.14 MMT from France, 780 KMT from Romania, 765 KMT from Russia, 55 KMT from USA and 165 KMT from Ukraine) of wheat on the international market since July 1, the start of the 2014/15.

- Egypt has sufficient wheat supply to last until late April, just after the government will begin buying wheat from the local harvest

- Dec 30 - Algeria OAIC seeks optional-origin milling wheat for March/April shipment

- Dec 18 - Algeria OAIC made no purchase in a tender for a nominal 50,000 tons of soft wheat
