- Jun 17 - Saudi Arabia's SAGO (Saudi Grains Organisation) bought 315,000 MT of hard wheat (12.5% protein) of European, North and South American and Australian origin at an average price of 205.43 $/mt c&f in 5 consignments for September shipment to the ports of Jeddah (190 TMT) and Dammam (125 TMT):

  • Jeddah Sea Port:
    • 65,000 MT of hard wheat from Bunge at 204.65 $/mt c&f (Sept 1-10);
    • 65,000 MT of hard wheat from Cargill at 203.40 $/mt c&f (Sept 10-20);
    • 60,000 MT of hard wheat from Louis Dreyfus at 204.94 $/mt c&f (Sept 20-30).
  • Dammam Sea Port:
    • 65,000 MT of hard wheat from Bunge at 207.85 $/mt c&f (Sept 1-20);
    • 60,000 MT of hard wheat from Louis Dreyfus at 206.34 $/mt c&f (Sept 20-30)

- Iran has bought 4.213 MMT of wheat from domestic farmers this year in state-sponsored purchases, a 20% increase from the same period last year

- Russia's Ag Min said Russia exported about 33.279 MMT of grain between July 1-June 15, 2015/16, up by 12.3% from 29.626 MMT a year ago, including:

  • wheat – 24.111 MMT (20.997 MMT a year ago);
  • barley – 4.219 MMT (5.231 MMT);
  • corn – 4.616 MMT (2.922 MMT);
  • others – 333 TMT (476 TMT)

- Russia has 3,266,300 MT of grain in its federal intervention fund as of June 17

- Jun 17 - South Korea's Nonghyup Feed Inc (NOFI) bought 328,000 MT of corn:

  • 65,000 MT of corn from the US or South America at 215.5 $/mt c&f plus 1.25 $/mt surcharge for additional port unloading for Oct 10 arrival;
  • 68,000 MT of corn from the US or South America at 216.9 $/mt c&f plus 1.25 $/mt surcharge for additional port unloading for Oct 20 arrival;
  • 65,000 MT of corn from the US, South America or Eastern Europe at 214.87 $/mt c&f plus 1.25 $/mt surcharge for additional port unloading for Nov 1 arrival;
  • 65,000 MT of corn from the US, South America or Eastern Europe at 210.87 $/mt c&f plus 1.25 $/mt surcharge for additional port unloading for Nov 10 arrival;

- Argentina's Ag Minister expects 2016/17 corn acreage to widen by around 20%, raising production by 10-15 MMT from the previous year (25 MMT crop estimate 2015/16)

- Japan's use of corn in animal feed climbed to 46.5% in April, up 0.3% points from March (46.2%) and 1.4% points above year-ago levels (45.1% in Apr 2015). Its use of wheat was unchanged from month ago at 1.6% and vs. 1.5% a year ago; of barley at 3.4%, unchanged from prior month and vs. 3.5% a year ago. Japan's sorghum usage in feed rations stood at 2.6% for April, down from March (2.8%) and down from the year prior (3.7% in Apr 2015)
