WHEAT

- Jun 17 - Saudi Arabia seeks 300,000 MT of hard wheat, 12.5% protein, in 5 equal consignments for September shipment

- Jun 16 - Japan bought 112,870 MT of food wheat for July 21-August 20 shipment:

  • 10,615 MT of western white US wheat;
  • 21,840 MT of hard red winter US wheat;
  • 28,855 MT of dark northern spring US wheat;
  • 29,620 MT of Canadian western red spring wheat;
  • 21,940 MT of Australian standard white wheat for October shipment

- Jun 15 - Argentina grants export licenses for 21,200 MT of low protein wheat

- Egypt has bought 5.0 MMT of local wheat in the April 15-June 15 period that is 25% more than the original target of 4.0 MMT

- France is working to load 66,000 MT of wheat destined for Vietnam, its first significant sale to the country in 25 years

- Rosario grain exchange pegged Argentine 2016/17 wheat crop area at 4.7 mln hectares

- Kazakhstan's grain stocks as of June 1, 2016 accounted 5.008 MMT, including 3.7 MMT of milling wheat vs. 7.515 MMT (incl. 5.431 MMT of milling wheat) a year ago

- Jun 15 - Thailand sold 1.99 MMT of rice from state stockpiles in its fourth auction this year, about 89% of the offered amount

CORN

- Jun 15 - Argentina grants export licenses for 13,000 MT of malt and 7,000 MT of barley

- China sold an impressive 3.121 MMT of corn from state reserves this week (June 14-15), which represents 69.57% of the total offered. The auction included grain produced in 2011, 2012 and 2013. While the 2011 corn did not find any bidders, the 2012 crop corn traded at an average price of 1,656 RMB/mt (251 $/mt) and the 2013-crop corn at 1,571 RMB/mt (238 $/mt)

- Rosario grains exchange raised its Argentina's 2015/16 corn crop estimate to 27 MMT

- IKAR expects Russia's 2016 barley crop at 18.5 MMT, by 1 MMT more than last year's level

- IKAR forecasts Russia's 2016 corn crop at 13.5 MMT, slightly less than 13.8 MMT in 2015

- UK imported 130,036 MT of corn in April, up from 112,645 MT in March, including 71,447 MT from France and 44,246 MT from Ireland. Britain's Jul-Apr corn imports totaled 1.499 MMT vs. 1.652 MMT a year ago

- UK exported 209,505 MT of barley in April, down from 304,398 MT in March, but above last year level. Top customers included Algeria (81,231 MT) and Spain (35,071 MT). Cumulative barley exports for 2015/16 climbed to 1.763 MMT compared to 1.308 MMT in Jul-Apr 2014/15

- US Ethanol production for the week ended June 10 increased by 7,000 barrels to a new record of 1,013,000 barrels per day, up 3.4% from last year's level of 980,000 bpd. Stocks climbed by 957,000 barrels from the week prior to 21.182 million barrels, up 2.2% vs. 20.718 million barrels a year ago

SOYBEAN

- Jun 15 - Argentina grants export licenses for 15,558 MT of sunflower oil and 8,800 MT of soybean oil

- Jun 15 - Argentina grants export licenses for 31,000 MT of soymeal

- NOPA said its members crushed 152.82 million bushels of soybeans during May, which topped expectations (149.67 million bu – avg., 146.378-157.0 mln bu – range) and the most on record for the month. NOPA processors crashed 147.614 mln bu in April and 148.416 mln bu a year ago. Soyoil stocks climbed to 1.994 billion lbs as of May 31 from 1.943 a month earlier, above expectations of 1.971 billion lbs (1.904-2.05 – range) and last year's level of 1.578 billion lbs. Soymeal exports fell to 682,500 tons from 769,035 tons in April but well above than 551,146 tons a year ago

- Rosario grains exchange revised its forecast for Argentina's 2015/16 soybean harvest up to 55.3 MMT from 55 MMT previously

- Malaysia will raise its crude palm oil export tax to 6% in July from 5.5% in June. Malaysia calculated a reference price of 2,730.51 MYR/mt (665 $/mt) for July

- ADM increased its stake in Wilmar Int'l to 22% from its previous holdings of around 20%
