WHEAT

- Jun 15 - Japan bought 21,000 MT of feed wheat for November 30 arrival via SBS-tender. New SBS tender for 120,000 MT of feed wheat and 200,000 MT of feed barley will be held on Jun 22

- ABARES raised its forecast of 2016/17 Australian wheat crop to 25.384 MMT from previous estimate of 24.504 MMT in March and above last year's crop of 23.743 MMT

- Jun 15 - China auctioned 9,859 MT of imported soft red winter wheat from state reserves, or 19.92% of the offered amount, at an average price of 2,510 RMB/mt (380.5 $/mt)

- CNGOIC forecasts a marginal decline in China's wheat production in 2016/17 (June-May) to 130.1 MMT from the prior season's 130.2 MMT. Imports were seen stable at 3.0 MMT

- Argentine under-secretary of Agricultural Markets estimated this year's wheat exports at 8 MMT; next year would be above 9 MMT. Argentina's wheat production was set to rise to 15.37 MMT from the prior season's 11.3 MMT

- Russian Ag Min estimated spring wheat planting 103.2% (or 13.617 mln ha) done as of June 14 vs. 13.324 mln ha a year ago

- Kazakh farmers planted 14.497 mln ha (100.6% of planned) of spring cereals crops as of June 15 vs. 11.697 mln ha a year ago

CORN

- Argentine under-secretary of Agricultural Markets said Argentina's corn exports would rise to 24.0 MMT from the prior season's 19.1 MMT

- Dr. Michael Cordonnier lowered his Brazilian corn crop forecast by 1 MMT to 75 MMT (85.4 MMT in 2014/15), but left unchanged Argentine corn peg at 25 MMT (27 MMT in 2014/15)

- Dr. Michael Cordonnier trimmed his estimate of South America's 2015/16 corn crop this week from 105.3 to 104.3 MMT and vs. 116.2 MMT in 2014/15

- CNGOIC says China 2016/17 corn production will fall to 218 MMT from the prior season's 224.6 MMT, reflecting a 2.6% fall in planted area and 0.5% drop in yields. Corn imports are expected to decline to 1.0 MMT from the prior season's 2.7 MMT

- Ukraine's GPZKU supplied China with 1.2 MMT of corn in 2015 as part of its $1.5-billion loan for grains deal. Originally, Ukraine had expected China to take around 2 MMT of corn under the deal

- Ukraine's Ag Min estimated corn planting 99% (or 4.423 mln ha) done as of June 14 compare to 4.291 mln ha a year ago

- Russian Ag Min estimated spring barley planting 96.1% (or 7.79 mln ha) done as of June 14 vs. 8.24 mln ha a year ago

- Russian farmers planted 2.782 mln ha of maize or 93% of planned area as of June 14 vs. 2.713 mln ha a year ago

- ABARES raised its Australia's 2016/17 barley crop forecast to 9.026 MMT from 8.604 MMT previously and vs. 8.593 MMT in 2015/16

SOYBEAN

- Dr. Michael Cordonnier cut his Brazil soybean crop forecast by 1.5 MMT to 95.5 MMT (96.2 MMT in 2014/15), but left unchanged Argentine soybean peg at 56 MMT (61.4 MMT in 2014/15)

- Dr. Michael Cordonnier trimmed his estimate of South America's 2015/16 soybean crop to 165.8 MMT from previous estimate of 167.3 MMT and compare to 171.4 MMT in 2014/15

- Argentine under-secretary of Agricultural Markets estimates current soybean crop at around 57.6 MMT (61.4 in 2014/15), adding that the country lost 3.7-4.0 MMT of soy due to floods and another 1 MMT suffered quality damage. Argentina's soybean exports will fall to 11 MMT in the current season, from 11.5 MMT a year earlier

- Monsanto Co and Argentina's government have come to an agreement regarding royalty payments for use of its GMO soybean seeds. The resolution must first be approved by Argentina's seed institute and it should take effect June 21

- CNGOIC expects China will import 85 MMT of soybeans in 2016/17 (Oct-Sept), up from the prior seasons (82 MMT expected in 2015/16 and 78.35 MMT in 2014/15)

- ABARES trimmed its estimate of Australia's 2016/17 canola crop to 3.239 MMT from previous forecast of 3.271 MMT in March but up 10% from 2.944 MMT in 2015/16

- Surveyor Intertek Testing Services estimated Malaysia's June 1-15 palm oil exports at 566,212 MT up 0.5% from a month ago

- Surveyor SGS estimated Malaysia's June 1-15 palm oil exports at 555,116 MT down 3.4% from a month ago

- Ukrainian farmers have sown 5.505 mln ha of sunflower or 105% of planned area as of June 14 vs. 4.788 mln ha a year ago

- Ukraine's Ag Min estimated soybean planting 92% (or 1.863 mln ha) done as of June 14 compare to 2.007 mln ha a year ago

- Russian farmers have sown 6.956 mln ha of sunflower or 100.1% of planned area as of June 14 vs. 6.796 mln ha a year ago
