WHEAT

- Jun 1 - Algeria's OAIC seeks at least 50,000 MT of optional-origin milling wheat for August shipment

- Egypt has bought 4.537 MMT of local wheat since the start of the season on April 15, surpassing a target of 4 MMT that was set by the government at the beginning of the season

- May 31 - China sold 38,002 MT of wheat from state reserves in an auction on Tuesday

- IKAR raised its forecast of Russia's 2016 wheat crop by 1 MMT to 63.5 MMT and total grain production left unchanged at 107 MMT

- Russian Ag Min estimated spring wheat planting 97.7% (or 12.896 mln ha) done as of May 30 vs. 10.58 mln ha a year ago

- Kazakh farmers planted 13.486 mln ha of spring cereals crops as of May 31 vs. 6.432 mln ha a year ago

- There are some market participants' concerns about influence of rainy weather on wheat quality in EU and Black Sea region

- Vietnam's rice paddy output will likely fall this year for the first time since 2005 following the worst drought in 90 years, but the decline will be limited as farmers expand planting in the current and final crops, so total production could fall just 1.5% to 44.5 MMT. Vietnam's rice exports this year may dip 4.45% from 2015 to 6.44 MMT

CORN

- Ukraine's Ag Min estimated corn planting 98% (or 4.4 mln ha) done as of May 30 compare to 4.3 mln ha a year ago

- Russian Ag Min estimated spring barley planting 90.6% (or 7.348 mln ha) done as of May 30 vs. 6.98 mln ha a year ago

- Russian farmers planted 2.569 mln ha of maize or 85.9% of planned area as of May 30 vs. 2.588 mln ha a year ago

- South African grain and oilseed prices rose to record levels due to a weak rand. Yellow corn for July delivery rose 2.7% to 3,815 ZAR/mt, the highest levels since 1996

SOYBEAN

- China will postpone a state soybean reserves auction. Earlier China had planned to auction 300,400 MT of soybeans from state reserves on June 1

- May 30 - Argentina grants export licenses for 25,000 MT of sunflower oil and 20,420 MT of soybean oil

- Indonesia will keep the export tax for crude palm oil at 3 $/mt in June, unchanged from May

- Surveyor Intertek Testing Services estimated Malaysia's May 1-31 palm oil exports at 1,233,135 MT up 11.2% from a month ago

- Surveyor SGS estimated Malaysia's May 1-31 palm oil exports at 1,251,695 MT up 15% from a month ago

- Ukrainian farmers have sown 5.2 mln ha of sunflower or almost 100% of planned area as of May 30 vs. 4.6 mln ha a year ago
