WHEAT

- European Commission (EC) raised its forecast for 2016 EU soft wheat crop to 145.06 MMT from 142.76 MMT last month although still well below record production of 151.6 MMT last year. EU's executive increased its EU soft wheat exports estimate by 2 MMT to 29 MMT in 2016/17, still down from up-revised 30.02 MMT (28.98 MMT – previous estimate) current season. Soft wheat inventories in the region are forecasted at 18.38 MMT (18.87 MMT– previous estimate) by the end of June 2017, slightly above 17.5 MMT (18.29 MMT previously) estimated for 2015/16

- FranceAgriMer said 83% of soft wheat crops were in good and excellent condition as of May 23, down 3% points from last week and below the year-earlier score of 91%; durum rating at 78% in good to excellent vs. 79% last week and vs. 87% a year ago

- Russian Ag Min estimated spring wheat planting 87.1% (or 11.496 mln ha) done as of May 26 vs. 9.292 mln ha a year ago

- Kazakh farmers planted 10.393 mln ha of spring cereals crops as of May 27 vs. 3.605 mln ha a year ago

- Buenos Aires Grain Exchange kept Argentina's 2016/17 wheat acreage unchanged from last week at 4.5 mln ha (3.6 mln ha in 2015/16). Exchange estimates 3.9% of the crop has been planted as of May 26 vs. 4.3% this time last year

CORN

- May 27 - China's national trade center said the government sold 889,094 MT of corn from its stockpiles, about 43% of the offered amount. Today's sale included 24,134 MT of US imported corn, the rest was of domestic origin from 2012

- May 26 - Argentina grants export licenses for 21,000 MT of malt

- Buenos Aires Grain Exchange maintains its 2015/16 Argentine corn crop estimate at 25 MMT (28.2 MMT in 2014/15). Harvesting of Argentine corn crop was 29.1% completed as of May 26, behind of last year's pace of 37.4%

- Ukraine's Ag Min estimated corn planting 97% (or 4.362 mln ha) done as of May 26 compare to 4.153 mln ha a year ago

- Russian Ag Min estimated spring barley planting 85.1% (or 6.897 mln ha) done as of May 26 vs. 6.783 mln ha a year ago

- Russian farmers planted 2.508 mln ha of maize or 83.8% of planned area as of May 26 vs. 2.55 mln ha a year ago

- EC raised its 2016 EU corn harvest forecast to 65.77 MMT from 65.27 MMT last month (57.97 MMT in 2015). Projected imports next season were raised to 11.31 MMT from 11.0 MMT, while imports in the current season were lifted to 13.53 MMT from 12.63 MMT, contributing to an increase in carryover stocks to 17.45 MMT from 16.72 MMT. EC also increased expected stocks at the end of 2016/17 to 15.47 MMT from 13.94 MMT in April

- EC increased its 2016 EU barley harvest estimate to 62.2 MMT from 61.66 MMT last month, up from 60.65 MMT in 2015. Projected exports next season were left at 10 MMT unchanged from April estimate, while exports in the current season were lifted to 12.55 MMT from 12.2 MMT, contributing to a decrease in carryover stocks to 5.31 MMT from 5.68 MMT. EC forecasts EU 2016/17 barley ending stock at 7.83 MMT (7.82 MMT – previous estimate)

- FranceAgriMer said 83% of France's winter barley crops were in good to excellent condition as of May 23, down 1% point on the prior week and below the year-ago score of 89%. Spring barley rating was at 93% in good to excellent vs. 93% a week ago and vs. 93% a year ago

- FranceAgriMer estimated France's corn planting 95% done as of May 23, still behind last year's pace of 99%. Corn crop condition was estimated as 84% in good to excellent, down 1% point on the prior week and below the year-ago score of 88%

SOYBEAN

- May 26 - Argentina grants export licenses for 17,740 MT of soymeal and 14,500 MT of sunflower meal

- Buenos Aires Grains Exchange maintains its forecast for 2015/16 Argentine soy crop at 56 MMT (60.8 MMT in 2014/15). Harvesting of Argentine soybean crop was 72.1% completed as of May 26, below last year's pace of 90.3%

- Ukrainian farmers have sown 5.161 mln ha of sunflower or 99% of planned area as of May 26 vs. 4.524 mln ha a year ago

- Ukraine's Ag Min estimated soybean planting 87% (or 1.777 mln ha) done as of May 26 compare to 1.877 mln ha a year ago

- Russian farmers have sown 5.995 mln ha of sunflower or 86.3% of planned area as of May 26 vs. 5.936 mln ha a year ago

- Russian farmers planted 1.241 mln ha of soybeans or 56% of planned area as of May 26 compare to 1.356 mln ha a year ago

- EC trimmed its 2016 EU rapeseed harvest estimate to 22.01 MMT from 22.26 MMT in April, but up from 21.6 MMT in 2015

- EC raised its 2016 EU sunflower crop forecast to 8.47 MMT from 8.2 MMT last month, up 7.6% from 7.87 MMT in 2015

- EC raised its 2016 EU soybean harvest forecast to 2.24 MMT from 2.08 MMT in April, down 1.8% from 2.28 MMT in 2015
