WHEAT

- May 25 - South Korea's Major Feedmill Group bought 65,000 MT of optional origin feed wheat at 187.12 $/mt c&f for October 5 arrival

- May 25 - South Korea's Feed Leaders Committee bought 60,000 MT of optional origin feed wheat at 189.90 $/mt c&f plus a 1.25 $/mt surcharge for additional port unloading for September shipment

- May 24 - Jordan bought 100,000 MT of hard milling wheat from Ameropa at 202 $/mt c&f for October shipment

- Indian flour mills have signed deals to import about 500,000 MT of Australian (350 TMT) and French (150 TMT) wheat this year for July-September shipment. The bulk of the deals done in the past few weeks have millers paying 237-243 $/mt c&f, for Australian prime wheat with 12.5% protein content. For French wheat with 11% protein, millers paid around 200-205$/mt. India's 2016/17 wheat imports are expected to surge more than five-fold to 2.75 MMT. Traders estimated Indian government's procurement at about 22.8 MMT so far against a target of 30 MMT. The national wheat stocks are estimated at 31.4 MMT as of May 1

- Egypt has bought 4.076 MMT of local wheat since the start of the season on April 15, topping a target of 4 MMT

- China sold 84,412 MT out of the 2.44 MMT of reserved wheat offered at auction this week

- Vietnam will ship an estimated 2.35 MMT of rice between January and May, down 2.1% from a year ago

- Private weather forecaster Skymet ups estimate of India's seasonal monsoon rains to 109% of the long-term average up from the previous 105%. The group says rains will accelerate from June's 87% of long term average to 108% in July and 113% in August, to 123% in September

CORN

- May 26 - South Korea's Major Feedmill Group seeks 70,000 MT of corn for August delivery

- May 24 - Taiwan's MFIG bought 65,000 MT of US corn at a premium of 1.0499 $/bushel c&f over the Chicago December corn futures for Aug 10-29 shipment

- May 27 - China will auction a total of around 2.MMT of grains, including 2 MMT of state corn and 204,100 MT of state rice on Friday. The grain that will be auctioned on Friday includes 1.93 MMT of domestically produced corn from the 2012 harvest, as well as 13,100 MT of imported corn from 2011, and 45,900 MT of imported corn in 2012

- May 25 - Japan received no offers for 120,000 MT of feed wheat and 200,000 MT of feed barley in a simultaneous buy and sell (SBS) auction. New SBS tender for the same amounts for each grain will be held on June 1

- Dr. Michael Cordonnier increased its projection for US 2016 planted acreage with corn by 0.5 to 92.5 million acres, resulting in a 14.08-billion-bu crop (14.0 billion bu. last week)

- Dr. Michael Cordonnier kept his estimate of South America's 2015/16 corn crop unchanged this week at 105.3 MMT (116.2 MMT in 2014/15)

- SAGIS estimated South Africa's corn stocks as of Apr 30 were at 2.481 MMT vs. 2.600 MMT a month ago and 2.074 MMT a year ago

- SAGIS estimated S. Africa's May-Apr 2015/16 corn exports at 874,579 MT vs. 2.156 MMT a year ago
