- Apr 14 - South Korea's DongAOne, Korea Flour Mills, Samyang Corp and Daesun Flour Mills bought 45,500 MT of Australian wheat for September shipment:

  • 41,000 MT of Australian standard white, 10.3-11.0% protein, at 232 $/mt fob;
  • 4,500 MT of Australian hard, min. 11.5% protein, at 229 $/mt fob

- Apr 14 - South Korea's DongAOne, Korea Flour Mills, Samyang Corp and Daesun Flour Mills bought 25,500 MT of US wheat for August shipment:

  • 6,500 MT of western/soft white, max. 10.5% protein, at 197.50 $/mt fob;
  • 1,300 MT of western/soft white, max. 8.5% protein, at 243.90 $/mt fob;
  • 7,200 MT of hard red winter, min. 11.5% protein, at 197.79 $/mt fob;
  • 10,500 MT of dark/northern spring, min. 14.0% protein, at 223.09 $/mt fob

- Apr 14 - Japan bought 127,620 MT of food wheat for May 21-June 20 shipment:

  • 22,182 MT of western white US wheat;
  • 12,560 MT of hard red winter US wheat;
  • 35,920 MT of dark northern spring US wheat;
  • 34,708 MT of Canadian western red spring wheat;
  • 22,250 MT of Australian standard white wheat for August shipment

- Apr 13 - Tunisia bought 100,000 MT of optional origin milling wheat for July 15-Sept 25 shipment:

  • 25,000 MT from Nidera at 179.60 $/mt c&f;
  • 25,000 MT from Nidera at 179.61 $/mt c&f;
  • 25,000 MT from Soufflet at 179.74 $/mt c&f;
  • 25,000 MT from Soufflet at 180.74 $/mt c&f

- Apr 13 - Argentina grants export licenses for 112,790 MT of low protein wheat

- Ukraine's Ag Min said Ukraine exported 31.9 MMT of grain between July 1-Apr 13, 2015/16, including: corn – 14.3 MMT; wheat – 13.3 MMT; barley – 4.1 MMT; others – 201 TMT

- Buenos Aires Grains Exchange says Argentine farmers are likely to plant 4.5 million hectares with wheat for the 2016/17 crop, up 25% from last year's 3.6 mln ha due to the lifting of export barriers. Farmers are expected to start planting in the coming weeks for the new wheat crop

- Germany's association of farm cooperatives left its forecast of country's 2016 wheat crop unchanged from March estimate at 26.1 MMT, a 1.7% reduction from last year

CORN

- Apr 13 - USDA announced export sales of 110,800 MT of US corn for delivery to Japan during 2015/16

- Apr 13 - Tunisia bought 100,000 MT of optional origin feed barley from Bunge at 158.77 $/mt c&f for June 15-Aug 25 shipment

- Apr 13 - Argentina grants export licenses for 536,700 MT of corn

- Zambia on Wednesday lifted the ban it imposed last week on the export of maize after a physical verification revealed that the southern African nation has enough stocks (600,433 MT of maize) to last until August

- Agr Brasil reduced its forecast for Brazil's 2015/16 corn crop by 3.87 MMT to 81.2 MMT due to lack of rain

- Chinese Ag Min says Beijing may allow commercial cultivation of pest-resistant genetically-modified (GM) corn within the next five years

- US Ethanol production for the week ended Apr 8 fell by 38,000 barrels to 938,000 barrels per day, lowest since September, but up 1.5% from last year's level of 924,000 bpd. Stocks increased by 103,000 barrels to 22.317 million barrels, up 8.1% vs. 20.645 million barrels a year ago

SOYBEAN

- Apr 13 - Argentina grants export licenses for 130,000 MT of soybeans and 164,700 MT of soymeal

- Thomas Mielke (Oil World) expects global palm oil output to fall by 700,000 MT in 2015/16 due to El Nino. Mielke also forecast 2016 output in top grower Indonesia to marginally rise to 33 MMT from 32.5 MMT in 2015, while Malaysian production is expected to fall to 19.2 MMT from 19.96 MMT last year

- Germany's association of farm cooperatives forecast the country's 2016 winter rapeseed crop will rise 0.6% on the year to 5.03 MMT, slightly down from previous estimate of 5.04 MMT last month
