The Egypt's state grain buyer, the General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC) on Tuesday, April 12, bought 120,000 MT of Romanian wheat and 55,000 MT of Ukrainian wheat for May 21-31 delivery:

  • 55,000 MT of Ukrainian wheat from Venus at 192.00 $/mt c&f (178.91 $/mt fob+13.09 $/mt freight from National Navigation Company)
  • 60,000 MT of Romanian wheat from Ameropa at 192.18 $/mt c&f (185.62 $/mt fob+6.56 $/mt freight from Ameropa)
  • 60,000 MT of Romanian wheat from Ameropa at 192.18 $/mt c&f (185.62 $/mt fob+6.56 $/mt freight from Ameropa)

It was the 30-th tender since the start of the new fiscal year. GASC has bought 4.5 MMT (1.885 MMT from Russia, 960 TMT from Romania, 780 TMT from France, 635 TMT from Ukraine, 180 TMT from Argentina and 60 TMT from Poland) of wheat on the international market since July 1, the start of the 2015/16.

Traders said the following offers were submitted to GASC in the first round of the tender (USD/MT, FOB):

  • Venus: 55,000 MT of Ukraine wheat at 180.41 $/mt fob Nikolaev
  • Soufflet: 60,000 MT of French wheat at 184.74 $/mt fob from two ports
  • Ameropa: 60,000 MT of Romanian wheat at 185.77 $/mt fob Constanta
  • Ameropa: 60,000 MT of Romanian wheat at 186.77 $/mt fob Constanta
  • ADM: 60,000 MT of Russian wheat at 191.85 $/mt fob Novorossiysk
  • Union Co.: 60,000 MT of Russian wheat at 194.40 $/mt fob Novorossiysk
  • Union Co.: 60,000 MT of Russian wheat at 195.60 $/mt fob Novorossiysk

Best offers on C&F basis in the first round of the tender was as follows (USD/MT, C&F):

  • Ameropa: 60,000 MT of Romanian wheat at 185.77+ 6.56=192.33 $/mt c&f
  • Ameropa: 60,000 MT of Romanian wheat at 186.77+6.56=193.33 $/mt c&f
  • Venus: 55,000 MT of Ukraine wheat at 180.41+13.09=193.5 $/mt c&f
  • Soufflet: 60,000 MT of French wheat at 184.74+11.1=195.84 $/mt c&f
