The Egypt's state grain buyer, the General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC) on Thursday, April 7, bought 60,000 MT of French wheat for May 10-20 delivery:

  • 60,000 MT of French wheat from Casillo at 192.34 $/mt c&f (181.69 $/mt fob+10.65 $/mt freight from National Navigation Company)

It was the 29-th tender since the start of the new fiscal year. GASC has bought 4.325 MMT (1.885 MMT from Russia, 840 TMT from Romania, 780 TMT from France, 580 TMT from Ukraine, 180 TMT from Argentina and 60 TMT from Poland) of wheat on the international market since July 1, the start of the 2015/16.

GASC also said earlier on Thursday it would allow wheat with a maximum of 13% moisture content in its tenders, changing a previous exemption that stated up to 13.5% moisture in the grain was acceptable.

Traders said the following offers were submitted to GASC in the first round of the tender (USD/MT, FOB):

  • Venus: 55,000 MT of Ukraine wheat at 182.99 $/mt fob Nikolaev
  • Casillo: 60,000 MT of French wheat at 183.69 $/mt fob Dunkirk
  • Soufflet: 60,000 MT of French wheat at 186.24 $/mt fob 2 ports
  • Ameropa: 60,000 MT of Romanian wheat at 187.88 $/mt fob Constanta
  • ADM: 60,000 MT of Russian wheat at 189.85 $/mt fob Novorossiysk

Offers on C&F basis was as follows (USD/MT, C&F):

  • Casillo: 60,000 MT of French wheat at 183.69+10.65=194.34 $/mt c&f
  • Ameropa: 60,000 MT of Romanian wheat at 187.88+6.61=194.49 $/mt c&f
  • Venus: 55,000 MT of Ukraine wheat at 182.99+12.58=195.57 $/mt c&f
  • Soufflet: 60,000 MT of French wheat at 186.24+10.65=196.89 $/mt c&f
  • ADM: 60,000 MT of Russian wheat at 189.85+8.30=198.15 $/mt c&f
