The Egypt's state grain buyer, the General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC) on Thursday, February 25, bought 120,000 MT of Romanian, 60,000 MT of French, 60,000 MT of Argentine and 60,000 MT of Ukrainian wheat for March 26-April 4 delivery:

  • 120,000 MT of Romanian wheat from Ameropa at 183.98 $/mt c&f (179.65 $/mt fob+4.33 $/mt freight)
  • 60,000 MT of French wheat from Soufflet at 183.98 $/mt c&f (175 $/mt fob+8.98 $/mt freight)
  • 60,000 MT of Argentine wheat from BTG at 187.7 $/mt c&f (172 $/mt fob+15.7 $/mt freight)
  • 60,000 MT of Ukrainian wheat from Louis Dreyfus at 187.7 $/mt c&f (179 $/mt fob+8.7 $/mt freight)

It was the 25-th tender since the start of the new fiscal year. GASC has bought 3.785 MMT (1.885 MMT from Russia, 660 TMT from Romania, 540 TMT from France, 460 TMT from Ukraine, 180 TMT from Argentina and 60 TMT from Poland) of wheat on the international market since July 1, the start of the 2015/16

Traders said the following offers were submitted to GASC in the first round of the tender (USD/MT, FOB):

  • BTG: 60,000 MT of Argentine wheat at $175
  • Soufflet: 60,000 MT of French wheat at $175.24
  • Ameropa: 2x60,000 MT of Romanian wheat at $180
  • Louis Dreyfus: 60,000 MT of Ukrainian wheat at $182.74
  • Dolje: 60,000 MT of Romanian wheat at $185.50
  • Union Co.: 60,000 MT of Russian wheat at $186.90
  • Aston: 60,000 MT of Russian wheat at $188.69

Offers on C&F basis was as follows (USD/MT, C&F):

  • Soufflet: 60,000 MT of French wheat at 175.24+8.98=184.22 $/mt c&f
  • Ameropa: 2x60,000 MT of Romanian wheat at 180+4.33=184.33 $/mt c&f
  • BTG: 60,000 MT of Argentine wheat at 175+15.95=190.95 $/mt c&f
  • Louis Dreyfus: 60,000 MT of Ukrainian wheat at 182.74+8.80=191.54 $/mt c&f
  • Dolje: 60,000 MT of Romanian wheat at 185.5+6.80=192.30 $/mt c&f
  • Union Co.: 60,000 MT of Russian wheat at 186.90+5.59=192.49 $/mt c&f
  • Aston: 60,000 MT of Russian wheat at 188.69+6.90=195.59 $/mt c&f
