- Oct 15 - South CJ Cheiljedang Corp bought 24,500 tons of US milling wheat for Feb shipment

- Oct 9 - Algeria OAIC bought around 600 KMT of optional-origin milling wheat at 244.50-247 $/t c&f for Jan-Feb shipment

- Oct 10 - Egypt GASC bought 175 KMT of French, Russian wheat for shipment November 11-20: 

  • 60 KMT of French wheat from Glencore at 243.40 $/t c&f 
  • 60 KMT of French wheat from Soufflet  at 245.65 $/t c&f 
  • 55 KMT of Russian wheat from Glencore at 249.30 $/t c&f

- Egypt’s strategic reserve of wheat is enough to last until the first week of March 2015

- Egypt will buy wheat from local farmers in next year's harvest at the same price it paid this year (420 EGP/ardeb (150 kg))

- Oct 9 - Japan bought 108,933 tons of food wheat for Nov – Dec shipment:

  • 15,100 tons of western white US wheat

- Oct 10 - USDA announced 1,478,280 tons of corn sold to Mexico 975,360 tons for 2014/15 shipment and 502,920 tons for 2015/16 shipment  

- Oct 14 - South Korea KOCOPIA canceled tender for 55 KMT of optional origin corn. The lowest offer was 219.05 $/t c&f for U.S./South American origins

- Oct 14 - South Korea FLC canceled tender for 60 KMT of corn

- Oct 10 - South Korea NOFI canceled tender for 40-60 KMT of optional origin corn. The lowest offer was 209.10 $/t c&f

- CONAB estimated Brazilian’s 2013/14 corn crop at 79.9 MMT vs. previous estimate of 79.91 MMT and 2014/15 crop at 76.6-78.9 MMT (first estimate of the season)

- Coceral raised its estimate of EU’s 2014 corn production to 72.8 MMT from 64.6 MMT in its previous quarterly outlook in June vs. 63.2 MMT last year

SOYBEAN

- China’s soybean imports in September were at 5.03 MMT vs. 6.03 MMT in August and vs. 4.7 MMT a year ago

- CONAB estimated Brazilian’s 2013/14 soybean crop at 86.1 MMT vs. previous estimate 86.12 MMT and 2014/15 crop at 88.83-92.41 MMT (first estimate of the season) Brazilian’s  2014/15 soybean exports estimated at 48.50 MMT vs. 2013/14 exports of 46.57 MMT

PALM OIL

- Indonesia likely to keep palm export tax at zero for Nov - industry

- Surveyor SGS estimated Malaysia’s Oct 1-15th palm oil exports at 621,145 tons down 16% from a month ago

- MPOB estimated Malaysia’s September palm oil stocks at 2.09  MMT vs. average estimate of 2.05 MMT and vs. August stocks of 2.054 MMT

- MPOB estimated Malaysia’s September palm oil output at  1.897 MMT vs. average estimate of 1.87 MMT and vs. August output of 2.03 MMT

- MPOB estimated Malaysia’s September palm oil exports at 1.628  MMT vs. average estimate of 1.60 MMT and vs. August exports of 1.44 MMT
