- Nov 5 - Japan seeks 129,663 MT of food wheat for Dec-Jan shipment:

  • 35,100 MT of western white US wheat
  • 13,690 MT of hard red winter US wheat
  • 55,653 MT of Canadian western red spring wheat
  • 25,220 MT of Australian standard white

- Ethiopia bought 856,000 MT of wheat:

  • 300,000 MT from Phoenix at 233 $/mt c&f free out
  • 300,000 MT from Intrade at 243 $/mt c&f free out
  • 176,000 MT from Promising at 241 $/mt c&f free out
  • 80,000 MT from Hakan at 234 $/mt c&f free out

- Flour mills in Indonesia have made enquiries about buying Russian wheat for January shipment because of concerns for the crop in Australia, the country's traditional supplier

- Australian Bureau of Meteorology forecast as much as 200 millimeters of rain could hit parts of New South Wales, the country's second largest wheat producing state. The showers could delay the harvest and damage the quality of the crop

- Russia's Ag Min said Russia exported about 13.306 MMT of grain between July 1-Oct 28, 2015, down by 9.2% from 14.649 MMT a year ago, including:

  • wheat – 10.184 MMT (vs. 12.143 MMT last year)
  • barley – 2.188 MMT (vs. 1.83 MMT)
  • corn – 825 TMT (vs. 559 TMT)
  • other grains – 109 TMT (vs. 117 TMT)

- Oct 29 - Russia bought 16,322 MT of intervention grain (wheat) in Crimea. Making the total bought since Aug 19 at 46,437 MT of Crimean wheat. Separately Russia bought 202,500 MT of Russian grain (188,730 MT of wheat, 7,425 MT of rye and 6,345 MT of barley) in intervention fund between Aug 20-Oct 28 via tenders on the NTB (Moscow Exchange). So, total intervention purchases so far reach 248,937 MT of grain (incl. 235,167 MT of wheat)

- Russia has 1,842.5 TMT of grain in its federal intervention fund as of October 30

- Russian farmers have harvested 105.8 MMT of grain (incl. 63.8 MMT of wheat, 18.2 MMT of barley and 10.4 MMT of corn) as of Oct 30, down from 107.7 MMT (incl. 61.4 MMT of wheat, 21 MMT of barley and 9.6 MMT of corn) a year ago. Yields were at 2.43 mt/ha, down from 2.5 mt/ha a year ago. While 92% (or 15.7 mln ha) of winter crops were planted as of Oct 30 vs. 16.4 mln ha year ago

- Kazakhstan's Ag Min said Kazakhstan harvested 19.954 MMT (from 99.99% area) as of Nov 2, up from 16.542 MMT a year ago. Yields were at 1.35 mt/ha, up from 1.25 mt/ha a year ago

- Ukrainian farmers have planted winter wheat on 5.3 mln ha (86% of plan) as of Oct 30 vs. 6.1 mln ha a year ago

- Thai Rice Exporters Association will finance storage of 100,000 MT of rice from December through February in an attempt to stem falling prices as farmers bring in their main crop

CORN

- South African prices for yellow maize, used mostly for animal feed, scaled their highest peaks in 2015 on Monday as drought concerns mounted

- Ukrainian farmers have harvested 16.5 MMT of corn from 3.1 mln ha (77%) with yields of 5.22 mt/ha as of Oct 30 vs. 18.8 MMT with yields of 5.47 mt/ha a year ago

SOYBEAN

- Oct 30 - USDA announced export sales of 120,000 MT of US soybeans for delivery to China during 2015/16

- Oct 29 - South Korea's NOFI bought 55,000 MT of Brazilian soymeal at 363.85 $/mt c&f+1.50 $/mt surcharge for additional port unloading for March 28-April 16 shipment

- AgRural said Brazil's soybean planting was 31% completed vs. 29% last year, but behind the five-year average of 42%. Later planting will not necessarily limit output – last year's crop was a record – but it could leave less time for farmers to plant a second annual crop of corn or cotton

- Surveyor Intertek Testing Services estimated Malaysia's October 1-31 palm oil exports at 1,496,207 MT down 2.4% from a month ago

- Surveyor SGS estimated Malaysia's October 1-31 palm oil exports at 1,504,737 MT down 3% from a month ago

- Ukrainian farmers have harvested 10.4 MMT of sunflower seed from 4.9 mln ha (98%) with yields of 2.12 mt/ha as of Oct 30 vs. 9.3 MMT, 4.9 mln ha and 1.89 mt/ha a year ago
