The Egypt's state grain buyer, the General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC) on Thursday, October 15, bought 180,000 MT of Russian and 60,000 MT of Romanian wheat for November 21-30 delivery:

  • 60 TMT of Russian wheat from Aston at 211.08 $/mt c&f (201.98 $/mt fob+9.1 $/mt freight from National Navigation (NNC))
  • 60 TMT of Russian wheat from Olam at 212.47 $/mt c&f (203.9 $/mt fob+8.57 $/mt freight from United Marine)
  • 60 TMT of Romanian wheat from Glencore at 212.53 $/mt c&f (203.45 $/mt fob+9.08 $/mt freight from NNC)
  • 60 TMT of Russian wheat from Vitol at 212.6 $/mt c&f (203.5 $/mt fob+9.1 $/mt freight from NNC)

It was the thirteenth tender since the start of the new fiscal year. GASC has bought 2.115 MMT (1.41 MMT from Russia, 345 TMT from Ukraine, 300 TMT from Romania and 60 TMT from France) of wheat on the international market since July 1, the start of the 2015/16.

Now Egypt's strategic wheat reserves are enough to last until start of April
