WHEAT

- Oct 1 - Japan seeks 128,489 MT of food wheat for Oct-Dec shipment:

  • 18,510 MT of western white US wheat
  • 17,220 MT of hard red winter US wheat
  • 27,530 MT of dark northern spring US wheat
  • 32,714 MT of Canadian western red spring wheat
  • 32,515 MT of Australian standard white wheat

- Oct 1 - Oman seeks 60,000 MT of Russian wheat for Nov shipment

- USDA said 31% of the US winter wheat is planted as of September 27, below the market expectation and down from 40% last year and the 5-year average pace of 35%

- US wheat export inspections for week, ending September 24, recorded 651,194 MT, topped analysts' estimates (350-550 TMT)

- Russian farmers have harvested 93.2 MMT of grain (incl. 60.3 MMT of wheat, 17.3 MMT of barley and 4.2 MMT of corn) as of Sept 28, down from 96.1 MMT (incl. 57.8 MMT of wheat, 20.3 MMT of barley and 4.3 MMT of corn) a year ago. Yields were at 2.43 mt/ha, down from 2.53 mt/ha a year ago. While 65.2% (or 11.2 mln ha) of winter crops were planted as of September 28 vs. 10.9 mln ha year ago

- StatsCan is expected to raise its 2015/16 Canadian wheat and canola crop estimates, though to levels still below year-earlier output

- Concerns about dry weather in Australia, Russia, Ukraine, South Africa, Malaysia and Indonesia continues

CORN

- Egypt, Mexico and Honduras are on market for corn for January

- USDA estimated 68% US corn crop rated good to excellent as of September 27, unchanged from a week ago, and vs. last year's 74%. As of Sunday, 18% of the US's crop was harvested, which compares to 11% last year and the five-year average of 23%. Traders expected a slightly more advanced pace of around 21%

- US corn export inspections for week, ending September 24, reported 809,383 MT, in line with analysts' expectations (750-900 TMT)

- Brazilian farm groups are asking the government to raise the minimum price for corn

- SAGIS estimated South Africa's August corn ending stocks were 6.798 MMT vs. 8.376 MMT a year ago

- SAGIS estimated S. Africa's May-August 2015 corn exports at 270,858 MT vs. 1.25 MMT a year ago

- SAGIS estimated S. Africa's May-August 2015 corn imports at 219,592 MT vs. 0 MT a year ago

SOY

- Sep 28 - USDA announced export sales of 1.249 MMT of US soybeans for delivery: 1.0 MMT to China during 2016/17 and 249,000 MT to unknown destinations during 2015/16

- USDA said the US soybean crop condition was rated 62% good to excellent as of September 27, down 1% from a week ago and below previous year's 72%. As of Sunday, 21% of the US's crop was harvested, ahead of market forecasts (18%), last year's pace of 9% and the five-year average of 16%

- US soybean export inspections for week, ending September 24, reported 530,493 MT, below of the trade forecasts of 550-850 TMT

- India's palm oil imports are likely to rise 6.2% to a record 9.6 MMT in the year starting November. India's soy oil imports are likely to rise 18% to a record 3.55 MMT, while sun oil imports could drop 4% to 1.45 MMT. Total 2015/16 edible oil imports are expected to rise 6.6% to a record 14.85 MMT
