- Sep 17 - USDA announced export sales of 298,000 MT of US soybeans for delivery to China during 2015/16

- Sep 17 - Egypt's FIHC bought 25,000 MT of soybean oil and 9,000 MT of sunflower oil for Dec-Jan shipment. Traders said the tender offers were:

  • ADM: soyoil- 25 TMT at 684 $/mt for Dec 1-20 & 25 TMT at 693 $/mt for Jan 1-20; sunoil- 9 TMT at 799 $/mt for Dec 1-20 & 9 TMT at 793 $/mt for Jan 1-20
  • Glencore: soyoil- 30 TMT at 707 $/mt for Dec 1-20 & 30 TMT at 715 $/mt for Jan 1-20
  • Cargill: soyoil- 30 TMT at 715 $/mt for Jan 1-20; sunoil- 10 TMT at 815 $/mt for Jan 1-20

- India has raised import taxes on crude and refined vegetable oils by 5 percentage points. The tax on crude vegetable oils has been hiked to 12.5% from 7.5%, and on refined oils to 20% from 15%

- Weekly US soybean export sales data for week ended September 10 – 912,800 MT, incl. 912,000 MT for 2015/16, on the lower side of market expectations of 0.9-1.3 MMT

- Cargill Investment (China) said China's 2015/16 soybean imports may fall for the first time in 10 years. Other analysts expect China's soybean imports would be unchanged in 2015/16 at 77.0 MMT

- Stats Canada estimates Canada's 2015 canola production at 14.4 MMT, up from August estimate of 13.3 MMT, but down 11.6% from 2014

- Stats Canada estimates Canada's 2015 soybean production at 5.9 MMT, up 2.1% from 2014

- Argentina's Ag Min estimated Argentine 2014/15 soybean crop at 61.4 MMT

- Buenos Aires Grain Exchange estimated sunflower planting 21.5% done as of Sep 17, up 2% on the week, and vs. 20.6% a year ago. The exchange forecasts country's sunflower planting area at 1.45 mln ha this year vs. 1.3 mln ha in 2014/15
