WHEAT

- Sep 2 - Japan bought 126,805 MT of food wheat for Oct-Nov shipment:

  • 11,270 MT of western white US wheat
  • 23,745 MT of hard red winter US wheat
  • 27,440 MT of dark northern spring US wheat
  • 64,350 MT of Canadian western red spring wheat

- Sep 1 - Jordan again canceled tender for 100,000 MT of optional origin hard milling wheat

- Argentine farmers in flood-hit wheat areas will receive $4.3 million in tax breaks

- Russian government still investigating whether there's a need to change wheat export tax

- Kazakhstan's Ag Min said Kazakhstan exported 816,600 MT of grain between July 1-August 31, 2015 vs. 755,700 MT a year ago, incl. flour – 364,600 MT in wheat equivalent vs. 391,300 MT in the same period of 2014/15

- Ukraine's Ag Min estimates Jul-Aug 2015 Ukrainian grain exports at around 6.2 MMT vs. 5 MMT in the same period of 2014/15

- Market analyst Angus Brown, from Mecardo, is forecasting wheat price rises during Australia's harvest

- World Meteorological Organization said that current El Nino weather phenomenon is expected peak between October and January and could turn into one of the strongest on record

CORN

- Sep 2 - Japan bought 52,317 MT of feed grain (43,167 MT of barley and 9,150 MT of wheat) for February arrive via SBS-tender. New SBS tender for 120,000 tons of feed wheat and 200,000 tons of feed barley will be held on September 9

- Brazil's August 2015 corn exports are estimated at 2,284,178 MT vs. 1,280,279 MT a month ago and 2,457,780 MT a year ago

- Brazil exported 196.23 million liters of ethanol during August, which was a 17.67-million-liter reduction from July but a 250% increase from year-ago

- Dr. Michael Cordonnier left his US corn yield projection at 165 bpa and crop at 13.33 billion bu, unchanged from previous week

- US total corn consumed for alcohol and other uses was 501 million bushels in July 2015, up 2% from June but down 1% from May 2015

- US dry mill co-product production of distillers dried grains with solubles (DDGS) was 2.00 million tons during July 2015, up 1% from June and up 6% from May 2015

- US wet mill corn gluten feed production was 333.8 thousand tons during July 2015, up 4% from June but down 5% from May 2015

- EIA estimated US ethanol production for June at 29.684 million barrels versus 29.666 million barrels in May and vs. 28.629 million barrels a year ago

- Hopewell, Virginia, ethanol plant operated by Vireol Bio Energy shut down Monday with no date set to reopen as they court new investors and hope for margins to improve

SOY

- South Korea's MFG tendered to buy up to 120,000 MT of soymeal from the US, South America or China for Feb-Mar arrival

- Dr. Michael Cordonnier left his US soybean yield estimate at 46 bpa and crop at 3.81 billion bu, unchanged from previous week

- Brazil exported 5.16 MMT of soybeans in August, which is down from 8.44 MMT in July but up from 4.12 MMT last year. Its soyoil exports surged to 259,872 MT, up sharply from 93,064 MT in July and 138,092 MT last year. In contrast, Brazil's soymeal exports stood at 1.11 MMT in August, down from 1.71 MMT in July and 1.64 MMT last year

- Argentina government said Argentina exported a record of 10 MMT of soybeans in June, 5 MMT in July and are on pace to sell 2.3 MMT for August

- Argentina July soybean crush was an all-time high of 4.746 MMT, up 3.3% from a year ago

- EIA said US June biodiesel production at 122 million gallons vs. 116 million gallons in May and vs. 110 million gallons a year ago

- EIA said 474 million lbs. of soybean oil used for biodiesel in June (52% of feedstocks used to produce biodiesel) vs. 443 million lbs. in May and vs. 467 million lbs. a year ago

- Surveyor SGS estimated Malaysia's August palm oil exports at 1,542,017 MT up 0.16% from a month ago
