- Aug 20 - South Korea's Daehan Flour Mill Co Ltd bought 23,900 MT of US wheat from Mitsui&Co for December shipment:

  • 9,100 MT of white/soft, protein max. 10.5%
  • 700 MT of white/soft, protein max. 8.5%
  • 5,500 MT of hard red wheat (HRW), protein min. 11.5%
  • 8,600 MT of northern spring/dark northern spring (DNS) min. 14%

- Aug 20 - South Korea's CJ Cheiljedang Corp bought 50,000 MT of US wheat from Mitsui&Co for November shipment

- Aug 19 - South Korea's Nofi passed on a tender for up to 65,000 MT of feed wheat for January, citing high prices

- Statistics Canada estimated Canada's 2015 all-wheat crop at 24.625 MMT, below average market expectation of 25.6 MMT, and will be the lowest in five years

- Weekly US wheat export sales data for week ended August 13 – 314,400 MT for 2015/16, on the low end of expectations of 300,000-500,000 MT

- EU in week ended August 18 granted licences to export 563 TMT of soft wheat, bringing the total this season to 2.87 MMT vs. 2.543 MMT a year ago

- FranceAgriMer said harvesting of soft wheat was 100% completed by August 17 vs. 99% a week ago and 94% last year

- Buenos Aires Grains Exchange said 6% of Argentine wheat area has been lost to flooding. The exchange estimated country's wheat planting area at 3.70 mln ha vs. 4.4 mln ha in 2014/15

- Argentina's Ag Min said 2015/16 wheat planted area now seen at 4.0 mln ha vs. 4.8 mln ha previously and vs. 5.26 mln ha in 2014/15

- China imported 1.7 MMT of wheat from January to July 2015. This is a 37% decline from the previous year. However, in July alone they imported 301,297 MT which is more than double the amount they imported in July 2014
