The Egypt's state grain buyer, the General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC) on Thursday, August 13, bought 60,000 MT of Russian and 115,000 MT of Ukrainian wheat for September 21-30 delivery:

  • 60 TMT of Russian wheat from El-Wehda (Union Co.) at 195.35 $/t c&f
  • 60 TMT of Ukrainian wheat from Olam at 192.88 $/t c&f
  • 55 TMT of Ukrainian wheat from Venus at 196.09 $/t c&f

Egypt's GASC tightened a wheat moisture limit in its two latest import tenders, applying a 13% maximum level for moisture, instead of the 13.5% limit allowed in previous tenders.

It was the sixth tender since the start of the new fiscal year. GASC has bought 945 TMT (590 TMT from Russia, 180 TMT from Romania and 175 TMT from Ukraine) of wheat on the international market since July 1, the start of the 2015/16.

Egypt purchased 5.055 MMT of wheat from abroad in the 2014/15 fiscal year in addition to 5.3 MMT of local wheat
