The Egypt's state grain buyer, the General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC) on Wednesday, August 5, bought 120,000 MT of Russian wheat for September 11-20 delivery:

  • 60 TMT of Russian wheat from Louis Dreyfus at 198.73 $/t c&f (187.94 $/t fob + 10.79 $/t freight from National Navigation)
  • 60 TMT of Russian wheat from Olam at 198.73 $/t c&f (187.94 $/t fob + 10.79 $/t freight from National Navigation)

Egypt's GASC tightened a wheat moisture limit in its latest import tender, applying a 13% maximum level for moisture, instead of the 13.5% limit allowed in previous tenders.

It was the fifth tender since the start of the new fiscal year. GASC has bought 770 TMT (530 TMT from Russia, 180 TMT from Romania and 60 TMT from Ukraine) of wheat on the international market since July 1, the start of the 2015/16.

Egypt purchased 5.055 MMT of wheat from abroad in the 2014/15 fiscal year in addition to 5.3 MMT of local wheat
