- Talk that another 2-3 Brazilian corn cargoes were sold into the east coast of the US for Oct-Nov shipment

- International Grains Council (IGC) put global corn production in 2015/16 at 966 MMT, up from a previous forecast of 962.7 MMT but below the prior season's record one billion ton crop; China's crop was revised up by 5 MMT to 225 MMT while downward revisions included the EU (66.9 MMT from 67.6 MMT) and Canada (12.2 MMT from 12.4 MMT). IGC raised its forecast for 2015/16 global corn carryover by 7.2 MMT from last month to 194.9 MMT (201.2 MMT in 2014/15)

- Buenos Aires Grain Exchange raised its estimate of Argentina's 2014/15 corn crop by 1 MMT to 26 MMT with harvest 78.9% completed vs. 79.6% a year ago

- USDA attaché forecasts 2015/16 Argentine corn crop at 21 MMT, which is 4 MMT below USDA official estimate and vs. 26.5 MMT in 2014/15 (25 MMT - USDA's official estimate for 2014/15). Exports are expected at 11.5 MMT in 2015/16 vs. USDA's estimate of 15.5 MMT and vs. 17 MMT in 2014/15 (15.5 MMT - USDA official estimate)

- Weekly US corn export sales data for week ended July 23 – 808,200 MT, incl. 364,900 MT for 2014/15, in line with analyst expectations of 200,000-400,000 MT and 443,300 MT for 2015/16 vs. expected 150,000-400,000 MT

- EU in week ended July 28 granted licences to export 79 TMT of corn, bringing the total this season to 174 TMT vs. 17 TMT a year ago

- EU in week ended July 28 awarded 243 TMT of corn (maize) import certificates, taking the volume so far this season to 777 TMT vs. 891 TMT a year ago

- FranceAgriMer said 59% of France's corn crops were in good to excellent condition as of July 27 down 2% from the prior week's 62% and vs. 84% a year ago

- Ukraine's Ag Min said Ukraine exported 2495 TMT of grain between July 1-31, 2015 (vs. 2031 TMT for the same period last year), including wheat – 698 TMT (vs. 824 TMT a year ago), corn – 976 TMT ( vs. 288 TMT), barley – 819 TMT (vs. 900 TMT) and other grains – 2 TMT (vs. 19 TMT)

- China sold just 71,679 MT (1.3%) of the 5.3 MMT offered in its latest weekly auction. So far this year, China has sold just 3.562 MMT, or 5.3%, of the total corn put up for auction
