WHEAT

- Tunisia tenders to buy 134,000 MT of optional-origin soft milling wheat

- US spring wheat yield prospects are the highest in at least 21 years in southern North Dakota and neighboring section South Dakota and Minnesota – first day Wheat Quality Council tour

- USDA attaché puts Algeria 2015 wheat crop at 3 MMT, which is 1 MMT above USDA official estimate, and Algerian imports will be large at 7.7 MMT, up 600,000 MT from 2014/15

CORN

- July 28 - South Korea MFG bought 139,000 MT of optional origin corn for Dec-Jan shipment

- July 28 - USDA announced export sales of 120,000 MT of US grain sorghum for delivery to China during the 2014/15 (60 TMT) and 2015/16 (60 TMT)

- China's state reserves bought 83.3 MMT of corn this year, up significantly from last year's 69.2 MMT. China is struggling to sell corn, reporting that only 3.4 MMT has been sold from the 150 MMT reserve this year

- There is talk that China is going to cut the reserve price by 10% or around 33 $/mt (to 1900 CNY/mt from 2100 CNY/mt presently) to stimulate sales

- CEC left its estimate of S. Africa's 2015 corn crop at 9.755 MMT, unchanged from previous forecast and vs. 14.25 MMT in 2014 but its above average market expectation of 9.74 MMT

- CEC left its estimate of S. Africa's 2015 sorghum crop at 114,700 MT, unchanged from previous forecast and vs. 265,000 MT in 2014

- USDA attaché increased 2015 Russian corn crop forecast by 2 MMT from its April estimate to 12 MMT, but it is 1 MMT below USDA official estimate

SOY

- Argentine crushing plants processed a record 18.5 MT of soybeans in the first six months of the year, 0.9% more than in the same period of 2014

- CEC estimated S. Africa's 2015 soybean crop at 1.042 MMT, up from previous forecast of 1.008 MMT and vs. 948,000 MT in 2014

- CEC estimated S. Africa's 2015 sunflower crop at 656,800 MT, up from previous forecast of 612,400 MT and vs. 832,000 MT in 2014
