- EU in week ended July 17 awarded licences to import 2,500 MT of Ukrainian barley under an annual duty-free quota. The award meant that the EU had now awarded 161,471 MT (64.6%) out of a total volume of 250,000 MT available in 2015

- EU in week ended July 21 granted licences to export 475 TMT of barley, bringing the total this season to 1.176 MMT vs. 569 TMT a year ago

- FranceAgriMer said 86% of France's winter barley crops were in good to excellent condition as of July 20 unchanged from previous week and vs. 73% a year ago. Spring barley g/e rating fall to 64% from 65% the prior week and vs. 66% a year ago. Harvesting of French winter barley was 98% complete, up from 96% a week earlier and above the 92% progress at the same point last year. Harvesting of spring barley was 47% complete vs. 17% a week ago and 13% a year ago

- Ukrainian farmers harvested 18.5 MMT of all grains as of July 23, down from 19.8 MMT a year ago. Yields were at 3.27 mt/ha up from 3.24 mt/ha a year ago. Farmers harvested 5.32 MMT of barley (66% of area) vs. 5.77 MMT a year ago

- Buenos Aires Grain Exchange estimated barley planting 84% done as of July 23 vs. 68.7% a year ago. Exchange estimated 2015/16 barley planting area at 1.05 mln ha vs. 920,000 ha a year ago
