- July 21 - Egypt's GASC bought 175,000 MT of Russian wheat for Sept 1-10 shipment:

  • 60 TMT of Russian wheat from Bunge at 204.25 $/t c&f
  • 60 TMT of Russian wheat from Union (Al Wehda) at 205.25 $/t c&f
  • 55 TMT of Russian wheat from Bunge at 206.73 $/t c&f

- Algeria seeks a nominal 50,000 MT of optional origin durum wheat for October shipment

- Iran has imposed import duties on wheat and barley, trying to protect the domestic farmer at harvest time. The wheat duty is 1,500 rials per kilo, or about 45-50 $/mt. The new wheat duty has been imposed for the next year and the barley duty until Sept. 22, 2015. The import duties apply to all private sector importers, traders and mills, but do not apply to the state import agencies Government Trading Corporation of Iran (GTC) or the State Livestock Affairs Logistic Co (SLAL)

- China's June wheat imports up 282.23% on year to 429,074 MT, incl. 212,685 MT from Canada, 109,735 MT from Australia and 89,361 MT from the US

- China's Jan- Jun wheat imports down 45.41% on year to 1.395 MMT

- Australian weather bureau sees El Nino continuing into 2016

- Ukrainian farmers harvested 11.5 MMT (48% of area) of wheat as of July 22, down from 13.1 MMT a year ago. Yields were at 3.5 mt/ha, up from 3.49 mt/ha a year ago

- Kazakhstan's Ag Min said Kazakhstan harvested 571,200 MT as of July 22, up from 292,100 MT a year ago. Yields were at 1.63 mt/ha, up from 1.11 mt/ha a year ago

- Kazakhstan's Ag Min said Kazakhstan exported 269,500 MT of grain between July 1-20, 2015 vs. 258,900 MT a year ago, incl. flour - 93,100 TMT in wheat equivalent vs. 127,300 MT in the same period of 2014/15
