- USDA said the US corn crop condition was rated 69% good to excellent as of July 19, unchanged from the previous week and in line with forecasts (76% a year ago). But 17% of the crop was rated excellent and 52% good, versus 15% excellent and 54% good the previous week

- US corn export inspections for week, ending July 16, reported 1.161 MMT, above the range of analysts' expectations (600-900 TMT)

- Safras & Mercado forecasts 2015/16 corn summer area at 4.1 mln ha down 9.7% from a year ago and winter area estimated at 10.2 mln ha up 7.8% and total corn crop at 89.2 MMT vs. 2014/15 crop of 85.6 MMT

- Ukraine's Ag Min may reduce its corn crop forecast for 2015 due to excessively hot weather and drought in central regions. Last month the ministry said Ukraine planned to thresh 26.4 MMT of corn this year vs. 28.5 MMT in 2014

- Ukrainian farmers harvested 13.5 MMT of all grains as of July 20, down from 17.9 MMT a year ago. Yields were at 3.21 mt/ha up from 3.19 mt/ha a year ago. Farmers harvested 4.4 MMT of barley (54% of area) with yields at 2.91 mt/ha
