- July 15 - Algeria purchased at least 250,000 MT (some say up to 500,000 MT) French wheat for October shipment

- Buyers in Mexico have booked several cargoes of French wheat for August-September shipment, in a move to replace US soft red winter wheat that has become expensive and is showing mixed quality after a rain-affected harvest

- JCI said Chinese state companies have bought 35.3 MMT of wheat into state stocks so far, down 15.7 MMT from last year at this time

- Weekly US wheat export sales data for week ended July 9 – 291,500 MT for 2015/16 (expected 300,000-500,000 MT)

- EU in week ended July 14 granted licences to export 470 TMT of soft wheat, bringing the total this season to 937 TMT vs. 350 TMT a year ago

- Strategie Grains cut its 2015 EU grain crop estimate to 305.4 MMT vs. previous estimate of 307.2 MMT

- Strategie Grains estimated EU 2015 soft wheat crop at 140.9 MMT vs. previous estimate of 141.6 MMT and 6% below 2014 crop of 149.3 MMT. Strategie also cuts EU 2015/16 soft wheat export estimate another 900,000 MT to 26.6 MMT (27.5 MMT in June) after 3.7 MMT cut in May-June due to Black Sea competition and lower Middle East imports

- FranceAgriMer, in a weekly update, rated 75% of soft wheat good or excellent as of July 13, unchanged from week earlier but above 72% a year ago. Harvesting of soft wheat was under way with 38% of the national area cut by July 13 vs. 15% a week ago and 4% last year. The smaller durum wheat harvest was 85% complete, accelerating from 53% the previous week and ahead of the 24% progress a year ago

- Russian farmers have harvested 18.7 MMT of grain (incl. 14.8 MMT of wheat and 2.5 MMT of barley) as of July 16, down from 22.2 MMT (incl. 18.5 MMT of wheat and 2.6 MMT of barley) a year ago. Yields were at 3.73 mt/ha, up from 3.53 mt/ha a year ago

- Russian grain stocks at 12.3 MMT as of July 1, up 9.1% from a year earlier

- Ukrainian farmers harvested 6 MMT (26% of area) of wheat as of July 16, down from 9.1 MMT a year ago. Yields were at 3.39 mt/ha, up from 3.27 mt/ha a year ago

- Kazakhstan's Ag Min said Kazakhstan harvested 377,700 MT as of July 17, up from 106,100 MT a year ago. Yields were at 1.6 mt/ha, up from 0.89 mt/ha a year ago

- Buenos Aires Grain Exchange estimated wheat planting 89% done as of July 16, up 7% on the week, vs. 80% a year ago

- Louis Dreyfus had bought a grain port terminal being built on the river Don in southern Russia
