- Weekly US corn export sales data for week ended July 2 – 684,200 MT, incl. 535,200 MT for 2014/15 vs. expected 400,000-600,000 MT and 149,000 MT for 2015/16 vs. expected 200,000-350,000 MT

- Weekly US ethanol production averaged 987,000 barrels per day, up 19,000 barrels (or 1.96%) from last week and up 6.47% compared to last year. Ethanol stocks rose to 19.841 million barrels, up 309,000 barrels (or 1.58%) from last week and up 8.5% compared to last year

- Conab raised its estimate of Brazilian 2014/15 corn crop to 81.81 MMT from previous estimate of 80.21 MMT and vs. 2013/14 crop of 80.1 MMT. Of the total they estimate the second crop to be 51.55 MMT up 2.15 MMT from last month

- EU in week ended July 7 granted licences to export 20 TMT of corn vs. zero a year ago

- EU in week ended July 7 awarded 97 TMT of corn (maize) import certificates vs. 132 TMT a year ago

- FranceAgriMer said 71% of France's corn crops were in good to excellent condition as of July 6 down 10% points from the prior week's 81% and vs. 83% a year ago

- France AgriMer trimmed its estimate of French 2014/15 corn ending stocks to 3.31 MMT from 3.36 MMT last month (2.29 MMT in 2013/14)

- Ukraine's Ag Min said Ukraine exported 527 TMT of grain between July 1-10, 2015, including wheat – 97 TMT, corn – 343 TMT and barley – 85 TMT

- FAO increased its estimate of 2015 world corn production by 1% (5 MMT) to 1,007 MMT, reflecting larger than earlier-anticipated crops in Europe and South America, owing to improved weather conditions

- China's COFCO is ready to increase its stake in Dutch grain trader Nidera by buying at least a further 15%, speeding up a deal which will help its transformation into a global agricultural trader. The state-run company acquired 51% of Nidera in February last year
