- June 17 - Japan bought 52,480 MT of feed grain (33,760 MT of barley and 18,720 MT of wheat) for Nov arrive via SBS-tender. New SBS tender for 120,000 tons of feed wheat and 200,000 tons of feed barley will be held on June 24

- EU in week ended June 12 awarded licences to import almost 10,579 MT of Ukrainian barley under an annual duty-free quota. The award meant that the EU had now awarded just 16.171 MT out of a total volume of 250,000 MT available in 2015

- EU in week ended June 16 granted licences to export 55 TMT of barley, bringing the total this season to 8.653 MMT vs. 5.39 MMT a year ago

- Strategie Grains forecasts the new crop EU barley production at 57.8 MMT, down 800,000 MT from its estimate last month due to dryness and which would be a 4% reduction from the previous year

- Germany's association of farm co-operatives forecasts 2015/16 Germany winter barley crop at 8.59 MMT, down 9.5% on the year and spring barley harvest at 1.95 MMT, down 5.3% from the previous year

- FranceAgriMer said 85% of France's winter barley crops were in good to excellent condition as of June 15 vs. 86% a week ago and 71% a year ago. Spring barley g/e rating fall to 82% from 86% the prior week but above 66% a year ago

- FranceAgriMer cut its 2014/15 barley ending stocks estimate to 960,000 MT from 1.3 MMT last month

- Russia's Ag Min said farmers planted 8.3 MH of spring barley through June 19, or 101.3% of the planned total planted area vs. 8.8 MH a year ago
