- May 14 - Two South Korean flour mills bought a total of 94,000 MT of Australian milling wheat, incl. 45,000 MT purchased by Daehan Flour Mills Co Ltd for October loading. Daehan's purchase comprised 40,100 MT of standard white wheat of 10.3-11% protein content bought at 242 $/t fob and 4,900 MT of hard wheat of a minimum 11.5% protein bought at 246 $/t fob

- May 14 - Japan bought 111,131 tons of food wheat for June-Aug shipment:

  • 15,860 MT of western white US wheat
  • 15,350 MT of hard red winter US wheat
  • 54,546 MT of Canadian western red spring wheat
  • 25,375 MT Australian standard white

- May 13 - Tunisia bought 100,000 MT of milling wheat and 142,000 MT of durum. Some of the wheat was likely to be sourced in the Black Sea region

- Russia Ag Min said Russia exported about 28.07 MMT of grain between July 1 – May 13, 2014/15 vs. 23.708 MMT a year ago, including wheat – 20.083 MMT, barley – 5.003 MMT, corn – 2.536 MMT

- Russian exporters will pay no fees for selling wheat abroad from Friday, May 15, until the introduction of a new export duty, calculated under a different formula, from July 1

- Russia's Ag Min said farmers planted 4.0 MH of spring wheat through May 15, or 30.1% of the planned total planted area vs. 4.5 MH a year ago

- Strategie Grains raised its 2015 EU soft wheat crop by 1.2 MMT from last month to 142.6 MMT and vs. 149.3 MMT in 2014. But the firm also cut its outlook for EU soft wheat exports due to increased competition from the Black Sea region. Strategie Grains cut 15/16 EU wheat export forecast by 2.6 MMT to 28.6 MMT while raising this year's by 100,000 MT to 32.2 MMT

- FranceAgriMer, in a weekly update, rated 90% of soft wheat good or excellent as of May 4, down slightly from 91% a week earlier but above 74% a year ago and the highest rating of the past five years for this time of year

- Informa Economics projects US 2015 spring wheat acreage at 13.219 million, up 250,000 from USDA's current peg

- Weekly US wheat export sales data for week ended May 7 – 257,400 MT, incl. 115,400 MT for 2014/15 (expected -150,000-+50,000 MT) and 142,000 MT for 2015/16 (expected 300,000-500,000 MT)
