- FAO forecasts that world cereal production to decline by 1.5 percent in 2015. Maize would account for the bulk of the decrease, with an expected contraction of 30 MMT to 995 MMT, mostly on reduced plantings

- The European Commission cut its estimate of this year's EU maize crop to 66.3 MMT from 68.0 MMT a month ago. Maize stocks in 2015/16 were cut by nearly 3 MMT to 16.3 MMT, reflecting both the reduced harvest outlook plus a 1.5 MMT rise in feed demand

- US ethanol production fell to 887,000 barrels per day from the previous week of 921,000 and its lowest level since October, ethanol stocks also declined 35,000 barrels from last week to 20.76 million barrels

- The European Commission lowered its outlook for this year's EU barley harvest to 58.6 MMT from 59.6 MMT a month ago. Barley ending stocks in 2015/16 were decreased by 1 MMT to 9.0 MMT
