- Jan 31 - Ethiopia seeks around 400,000 MT of optional-origin milling wheat for shipment two months after contract award

- Jan 9 - Jordan seeks 120,000 MT of optional-origin hard milling wheat for Apr-May shipment

- Jan 9 - Taiwan Flour Millers' Association seeks 111,650 MT of US milling wheat for Feb 23-Mar 25 shipment

- US wheat export inspections for week, ending Dec 27, recorded 376,281 MT, near the lower end of trade expectations (375-625 TMT). Inspections for 2018/19 are running 12.9% behind of year-ago

- Ukraine's Ag Min said Ukraine exported about 23.1 MMT of grain between July 1-Dec 31, 2018/19 vs. 20.7 MMT for the same period of last season, including 10.5 MMT of wheat (11.3 MMT a year ago) and 9.1 MMT of corn (5.6 MMT)

CORN

- Jan 10 - Jordan seeks 120,000 MT of optional-origin feed barley for Apr-May shipment

- US corn export inspections for week, ending Dec 27, reported 913,797 MT, within market expectations (0.85-1.1 MMT). Inspections for 2018/19 are running 69,1% ahead of year-ago

- Brazil’s Trade Ministry reported December corn exports at 4.014 MMT, up from 3.997 MMT in November and up vs. 3.994 MMT in the year-ago month

SOYBEAN

- Jan 2-3 - South Korea’s Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corp seeks a total 150,000 MT of non-GM soybeans for Jan-Aug 2020 arrival

- Dec 27 - South Korea’s Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corp bought 7,000 MT of non-GM soybeans from Blue Nile Trading Co from Russia (4,000 MT) for Mar 15-Apr 20, 2020 arrival and from US (3,000 MT) for June 15-July 20, 2020 arrival

- US soybean export inspections for week, ending Dec 27, reported 677,679 MT, below trade estimates (700-1000 TMT). Inspections for the 2018/19 marketing year are running 41.8% behind of year-ago

- Brazil’s Trade Ministry reported December soybean exports at 4.231 MMT, down from 5.072 MT in November but up vs. 2.356 MMT a year ago. Also Brazil exported 1.609 MMT of soymeal in December versus 1.09 MMT the month before and 674,057 MT a year ago; and 38,985 MT of soyoil compared to 22,746 MT in November and 46,467 MT a year ago

- India has cut import taxes on crude and refined palm oil from Southeast Asian countries. The duty on crude palm oil was lowered to 40% from 44%, while a tax on the refined variety was cut to 50% from 54%. However, Malaysian shipments of refined palm oil will be taxed at 45% compared with 54% earlier

- Surveyor SGS estimated Malaysia's December 1-31 palm oil exports at 1,339,879 MT up 7.9% from a month ago

- Surveyor AmSpec Agri Malaysia estimated Malaysia's December 1-31 palm oil exports at 1,273,076 MT up 1.8% from a month ago

- Surveyor Intertek Testing Services estimated Malaysia's December 1-31 palm oil exports at 1,278,661 MT up 4.4% from a month ago
