WHEAT

- Dec 20 - Egypt’s GASC seeks an unspecified amount of wheat from global suppliers for Feb 11-20 shipments

- Dec 20 - Japan seeks 106,100 MT of food wheat for Jan-Feb shipments:

  • 26,330 MT of western white US wheat;
  • 10,520 MT of dark northern spring US wheat;
  • 34,190 MT of hard red winter US wheat;
  • 35,060 MT of Canadian western red spring wheat;

- Dec 18 - Jordan has made no purchase in an international tender for 120,000 MT of optional-origin hard milling wheat

- Ukraine's Ag Min said Ukraine exported about 21.09 MMT of grain between July 1-Dec 19, 2018/19 vs. 19.25 MMT for the same period of last season, including 9.95 MMT of wheat (10.93 MMT a year ago), 7.65 MMT of corn (4.5 MMT) and 3.13 MMT of barley (3.78 MMT)

- Preliminary Ag Min data showed that Ukraine harvested 70.1 MMT of grain by clean weight in 2018 (up 13% over 2017), including 24.5 MMT of wheat (down 6% from 2017)

- 19 Dec - Japan bought 220 MT of feed barley for Mar 7 arrival via SBS-tender. New SBS tender for 120,000 MT of feed wheat and 200,000 MT of feed barley will be held on January 9

SOYBEAN

- Dec 19 - Egypt’s GASC bought around 31,000 MT of soybean oil at 11,685 EGP/mt (652.4 $/mt) from Watanya/Cargill (16 TMT) and Alexseeds (15 TMT) for Feb 10-25 arrival, but made no purchase of sunflower oil

- Dec 19 - USDA announced export sales of 1,199,000 MT of US soybeans for delivery to China during 2018/19

- Japan's November soybean imports fell 19,9% on year to 239,079 MT, incl. 201,242 MT from the US (down by 10,9%)

- Russia produced 4 MMT of sunflower oil during first eleven months of 2018, down 3.4% from the same period last year
