WHEAT

- Dec 18 - Jordan seeks 120,000 MT of optional-origin hard milling wheat

- US wheat export inspections for week, ending Dec 13, recorded 682,162 MT, topped trade expectations (350-550 TMT). Inspections for 2018/19 are running 14.9% behind of year-ago

- EU this season in period of July 1-Dec 16, 2018/19 exported 7.455 MMT of soft wheat compared to 9.877 MMT a year ago

- Russia’s Ag Min said Russia exported 25.9 MMT of grain between July 1-Dec 13, 2018/19, up 4.4% from 24.8 MMT a year ago, including:

  • wheat – 21.8 MMT (up 12.7% from year ago);
  • barley – 2.8 MMT (down by 13.5%);
  • corn – 1.0 MMT (twice down)

- Russia has 3,069,000 MT of grain in its federal intervention fund as of Dec 14 vs. 3,966,900 MT year ago

- Buenos Aires Grains Exchange cut its forecast of Argentine 2018/19 wheat production to 19.0 MMT from 19.2 MMT previously

- Chinese wheat crop fell by 2.2% to 131.43 MMT in 2018 from 134.33 MMT a year ago

CORN

- Dec 14 - USDA announced export sales of 125,000 MT of US corn for delivery to Japan during 2018/19

- Dec 13 - Jordan bought 60,000 MT of optional-origin feed barley from GTCS at 258.75 $/mt c&f for Apr 1-15 shipment

- US corn export inspections for week, ending Dec 13, reported 885,060 MT, within market expectations (0.8-1.1 MMT). Inspections for 2018/19 are running 73% ahead of year-ago

- Informa Economics cut its US corn yield forecast by 1.1 bu to 178.6 bushels per acre (bpa), which results in a US corn crop estimate of 14.601 billion bu for 2018

- EU this season in period of July 1-Dec 16, 2018/19 imported 9.934 MMT of corn (maize) vs. 7.043 MMT a year ago

- EU this season in period of July 1-Dec 16, 2018/19 exported 811,531 MT of corn vs. 623,472 MT a year ago

SOYBEAN

- Dec 19 - Egypt's GASC seeks 10,000 MT optional-origin sunoil and 30,000 MT soyoil for Feb 10-25 arrival

- Dec 14 - USDA announced export sales of 430,000 MT of US soybeans for delivery during 2018/19 to China (300 TMT) and unknown destinations (130 TMT)

- US soybean export inspections for week, ending Dec 13, reported 974,876 MT, topped trade estimates (600-900 TMT). Inspections for the 2018/19 marketing year are running 41,5% behind of year-ago

- NOPA said its members crushed a smaller-than-expected 166.959 million bushels of soybeans during November (168.444 million bu – average expectations). NOPA processors crashed 172.346 mln bu in October and 163.546 mln bu a year ago. Soyoil stocks fell to 1.484 billion lbs as of Nov 30 from 1.503 a month earlier, below the average expectations of 1.504 billion lbs but above last year’s level of 1.326 billion lbs. Soymeal exports decreased to 901,449 tons from 967,174 tons in October and vs. 896,145 tons a year-ago

- Informa Economics lowered its US soybean yield forecast by 1.0 bu to 51.6 bpa, which results in a 4.562 billion-bu crop estimate

- Chinese production of beans, largely soybeans, rose to 19.14 MMT from 18.42 MMT in 2017

- India imported 568,376 MT of crude palm oil in November vs. 609,828 MT in October and vs. 559,584 MT a year ago

- India imported 108,911 MT of RBD palmolein in November vs. 136,967 MT in October and vs. 147,362 MT a year ago

- India's stock of edible oils at various ports and in pipelines as of December 1, 2018 decrease to 2.191MMT from 2.325 MMT a month ago and vs. the last year's 2.267 MMT. India's monthly requirement is about 1.9 MMT
