WHEAT

- Dec 13 - Japan bought 137,657 MT of food wheat for Jan-Mar shipments:

  • 34,650 MT of western white US wheat;
  • 5,618 MT of dark northern spring US wheat;
  • 19,980 MT of hard red winter US wheat;
  • 55,459 MT of Canadian western red spring wheat;
  • 21,950 MT of Australian standard white wheat

- Weekly US wheat export sales data for week ended Dec 6 totaled 754,100 MT for 2018/19 (within trade expectations for 500-800 TMT). Export commitments for 2018/19 are running 10% behind of year-ago

- Iraq has signed an agreement with the US to import US wheat and rice. The agreement covers the first half of 2019

- Russian delegation visited Iraq's grains board to discuss the possibility of Moscow exporting wheat to Baghdad

- Strategie Grains forecasts EU 2019 soft wheat crop at 147 MMT, up 16% versus this year. They lowered forecast of 2018/19 EU soft wheat exports by 0.5 MMT to 19 MMT, down from the 20.5 MMT exported in 2017/18

- Bulgaria's July-Sept 2018 wheat exports are estimated at 2.145 MMT, down 4% from year-ago

CORN

- Weekly US corn export sales data for week ended Dec 6 totaled 1,064,600 MT, incl. 903,200 MT for 2018/19 (below expectations for 1-1.5 MMT). Export commitments for 2018/19 are running 16% ahead of year-ago

- Feedmills Association expects corn consumption by Indonesian animal feed producers would be between 7 MMT and 9.5 MMT in 2019, depending on prices, compared with about 6 MMT estimated corn consumption this year

- Strategie Grains forecasts EU 2019 corn crop at 62.9 MMT, up 4% versus this year

- Strategie Grains forecasts EU 2019 barley crop at 61.5 MMT, up 10% versus this year. They cut its forecast for EU 2018/19 barley exports by 700,000 MT to 5.4 MMT (5.9 MMT in 2017/18)

- Farmers in Bulgaria harvested 3.09 MMT of corn from 99.9% of planned area as of Dec 6, up 33.7% from last-year stage. Yields totals 7.55 mt/ha, 30.4% higher than a year-ago

- Bulgaria's September 2018 corn exports are estimated at 124,900 MT, down 35.6% from year-ago

- Bulgaria's July-Sept 2018 barley exports are estimated at 85,000 MT, down 57.5% from year-ago

SOYBEAN

- Dec 13 - USDA announced export sales of 1,130,000 MT of US soybeans for delivery to China during 2018/19

- Dec 12 - South Korea’s Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corp bought 14,000 MT of US non-GM soybeans from BSK Corp for Dec 15, 2019-Mar 20, 2020 arrival

- Weekly US soybeans export sales data for week ended Dec 6 totaled 795,300 MT, incl. 792,300 MT for 2018/19 (within trade expectations for 700-1000 TMT). Export commitments for 2018/19 are running 34% behind of year-ago

- Weekly US soymeal export sales data for week ended Dec 6 of 50,500 MT for 2018/19, well below trade expectations of 225-450 TMT. Export commitments for 2018/19 are running 9% ahead of year-ago

- Bulgaria's July-Sept 2018 rapeseed exports are estimated at 295,800 MT, down 5.9% from year-ago

- Bulgaria's September 2018 sunflower exports are estimated at 45,600 MT, down 48.5% from year-ago score

- Malaysia will maintain its crude palm oil export tax at 0% in January 2019, the same rate as the previous month. Malaysia calculated a reference price of 1,800.58 MYR/mt for January

- Surveyor SGS estimated Malaysia's December 1-10 palm oil exports at 312,160 MT down 9.6% from a month ago
