WHEAT

- Jul 29 - Iraq seeks at least 50,000 MT of hard wheat from the US, Canada or Australia. The tender closes on Jul 29 and offers must remain valid up to Aug 2

- Jul 24 - Egypt’s GASC seeks an unspecified amount of wheat from global suppliers for Sept 1-10 shipment

- Jul 24 - Japan bought 62,957 MT of Canadian western red spring wheat for Aug-Sept shipments

- Jul 23 - Argentina registered 60,420 MT of wheat for export

- US wheat export inspections for week, ending July 19, recorded 397,862 MT, within trade expectations. Inspections for 2018/19 are running 41% behind of year-ago

- USDA said the US winter wheat harvest was 80% complete as of July 22, lagging versus analysts' forecasts and last-year pace of 83% but above the five-year average of 79%. USDA rated 79% of the US spring wheat crop in good-to-excellent condition as of July 22, down 1% point from prior week, slightly behind of market expectation (80%) but significantly up compared to 33% a year-ago

- EU this season in period of July 1-22, 2018/19 exported 499,650 MT of soft wheat compared to 1.197 MMT a year ago

- Jul 23 - Argentina registered 100,000 MT of corn for export

- US corn export inspections for week, ending July 19, reported 1,313,177 MT, within market expectations (0.95-1.4 MMT). Inspections for 2017/18 are running 3.9% behind of year-ago

- USDA rated 72% of the country’s corn in good or excellent condition as of July 22, unchanged from prior week and slightly ahead of market expectations (71%), also better than last year’s 62%

- EU this season in period of July 1-22, 2018/19 imported 846,271 MT of corn (maize) vs. 912,713 MT a year ago

- EU this season in period of July 1-22, 2018/19 exported 12,974 MT of corn vs. 38,255 MT a year ago

- Ukrainian farmers have threshed 510,000 MT of peas from 72% of planned area with the average yield of 1.67 mt/ha as of July 23

- China imported 520,000 MT of corn in June, up 34.6% from a year ago. Corn imports in the first six months this year tripled to 2.21 MMT

- China's June 2018 barley imports fell 5.6% on year to 590,000 MT. Barley imports for the first half of the year were at 4.4 MMT, down 2.7%

- China imported 450,000 MT of sorghum in June, up 38% on year. Sorghum imports for the first half of the year were at 3.25 MMT, up 8.7% from the same period of 2017

SOYBEAN

- Sept 4 - Iran's GTC seeks 30,000 MT of sunflower oil

- Jul 23 - USDA announced cancellations of export sales of 165,000 MT of optional-origin soybeans for delivery to China during the 2018/19

- Pakistan recently purchased about 360,000 MT of soybeans sourced optionally from the US or Brazil. This brought Pakistani purchases of soybeans in the past month to almost 600,000 MT at a premium of about 63-70 c&f over Chicago soybean futures for shipment between October to March

- US soybean export inspections for week, ending July 19, reported 722,048 MT, within trade estimates. Inspections for the 2017/18 marketing year are running 4.2% behind of year-ago

- USDA rated 70% of the country’s soybeans in good or excellent condition as of July 22, up 1% point from prior week and ahead of market expectations (68%), also better than last year’s 57%
