- May 21 - Jordan Silos & Supply General Company seeks up to 50,000 MT of optional-origin milling wheat

- Apr 18 - Taiwan Flour Millers' Association seeks 92,975 MT of US milling wheat

- Apr 12 - South Korea's Nonghyup Feed Inc. (NOFI) made no purchase in its tender for 65,000 MT of optional-origin feed wheat for Sept 15 arrival. The lowest offer was from Midstar at 223.75 $/mt c&f +1.25 $/mt surcharge for additional port unloading

- Weekly US wheat export sales data for week ended Apr 5 totalled 188,700 MT, incl. 120,700 MT for 2017/18 (below trade expectations of 150-350 TMT). Export commitments for 2017/18 are running 15% behind of year-ago

- Russia’s Ag Min said Russia exported about 40.823 MMT of grain between July 1-Apr 11, 2017/18, up by 39.4% from 29.284 MMT a year ago, including:

  • wheat – 31.769 MMT (22.631 MMT in 2016/17);
  • barley – 4.613 MMT (2.364 MMT);
  • corn – 4.167 MMT (4.084 MMT)

- IKAR raised its forecast of Russia's 2017/18 wheat exports by 1 MMT to 39.5 MMT

- Russian Ag Min estimated spring grain planting 2.7% (or 849,200 ha) done as of Apr 13 vs. 2.218 million ha a year ago. Russian farmers have sown 32,800 ha of spring wheat or 0.3% of planned area vs. 200,900 ha a year ago

- EU this season in period of July 1-Apr 10, 2017/18 exported 15.247 MMT of soft wheat compared to 19.967 MMT a year ago

CORN

- Apr 12 - Argentina registered 150,000 MT of corn for export

- Weekly US corn export sales data for week ended Apr 5 of 895,900 MT, incl. 839,900 MT for 2017/18 (below trade expectations of 0.9-1.4 MMT). Export commitments for 2017/18 are running 2% behind of year-ago

- Apr 13 - China sold a total 2,928,383 MT of corn from state reserves via auctions:

  • 301,850 MT of 2013 corn, or 99.95% of the offered amount (301,972 MT) at average price of 1,471 RMB/mt (234 $/mt);
  • 2,626,533 MT of 2014 corn, or 85% of the offered amount (3,089,437 MT) at average price of 1,410 RMB/mt (224 $/mt)

- Apr 12 - China sold 3,330,979 MT of 2013, 2014, 2015 corn from state reserves, or 92.7% of the offered amount (3,590,247 MT), at average price of 1,481 RMB/mt (236 $/mt)

- EU this season in period of Jul 1-Apr 10, 2017/18 imported 13.42 MMT of corn (maize) vs. 9.121 MMT a year ago

- Apr 13 - Argentina registered 230,196 MT of soymeal for export

- Apr 12 - Egypt’s GASC bought 27,000 MT of local soybean oil at 13,965 EGP/mt (790 $/mt) from Watanya/Cargill (15 TMT) and Alex Co. (12 TMT), also 29,500 MT of sunflower oil from Aston at 813 $/mt c&f (with facilities 180 days) for June 15-30 arrival

- Apr 12 - South Korea's NOFI has purchased 24,500 MT of feed ingredients:

  • 12,000 MT of Indian rapeseed meal at 289.49 $/mt c&f+1.75 $/mt surcharge for additional port unloading for Sept 20 arrival;
  • 12,500 MT of palm kernel expellers from South East Asia at 128 $/mt c&f (6.5 TMT) and 133.75 $/mt c&f (6 TMT) + 1.5 $/mt surcharge for additional port unloading for Aug 5-25 arrival;

- Argentina bought 120,000 MT of soybeans from Brazil last week

- Weekly US soybeans export sales data for week ended Apr 5 of 2,464,500 MT, incl. 1,510,500 MT for 2017/18 (topped market expectations of 900-1400 TMT). Export commitments for 2017/18 are running 4% behind of year-ago

- Weekly US soymeal export sales data for week ended Apr 5 of 317,400 MT for 2017/18 (within market expectations of 150-400 TMT). Export commitments for 2017/18 are running 8% ahead of year-ago

- Argentina's Rosario grains exchange cut its forecast of the country's 2017/18 soybean harvest to 37 MMT from 40 MMT previously

- Paraguay will produce just over 10 MMT of soybeans in 2017/18, slightly less than a year earlier (10.3 MMT in 2016/17), according to CAPECO

- China imported 5.66 MMT of soybeans in March, down 10% from the year before. China's soybean imports in the first three months of the year rose 0.2% to 19.57 MMT

- China's imports of all vegetable oils in March was 399,000 MT down 11% on year. China's Jan-Feb vegetable oil imports fell 5.5% on year to 1.325 MMT
