WHEAT

- Jan 24 - Philippines bought 224,000 tons of feed wheat from the EU, Black Sea regions and Australia. Shipment is in four 56,000-MT consignments between April 29-July 23

- Jan 24 - CCC seeks 46,000 MT of white wheat for donation to Bangladesh for March

- Jan 24 - Japan bought 28,730 MT of feed grain (25,480 MT of wheat and 3,250 MT of barley) for March 9, 2018, arrival via SBS-tender. New SBS tender for 120,000 MT of feed wheat and 200,000 MT of feed barley will be held on Jan 31

- Jan 24 - Argentina registered 257,290 MT of wheat for export

- Jan 24 - China auctioned 30,256 MT of imported wheat from state reserves, or 3.1% of the offered amount (985,973 MT) at average price of 2,364 RMB/mt (370 $/mt)

- Jan 23 - China sold 596,594 MT of wheat from state reserves or 28.9% of the offered amount (2,063,723 MT) at auction at average price of 2,441 RMB/mt (382 $/mt)

- Ukraine's Ag Min said Ukraine exported 23.07 MMT of grain between July 1-Jan 24 2017/18 vs. 25.44 MMT for the same period last season, including:

  • wheat – 11.99 MMT (vs. 12.45 MMT a year ago);
  • corn – 7.06 MMT (8.43 MMT);
  • barley – 3.93 MMT (4.41 MMT)

- Egypt's strategic wheat reserves stand at 3 MMT. The current wheat reserve level is enough to last until early May

- Japan's December grain imports rose 1% on year to 1.965 MMT, incl. 634,750 MT from the US (down by 38.2%). For the full year of 2017, Japan has imported 24.593 MMT of grain, up 0.7% from year-ago (15.694 MMT from US, up 8.4% y/y)

CORN

- Jan 24 - USDA announced export sales of 125,000 MT of US corn for delivery to unknown destinations during 2017/18

- Jan 24 - Argentina registered for export 135,000 MT of corn and 25,300 MT of feed barley

- Dr. Michael Cordonnier lowered his forecast of Argentina’s 2017/18 corn crop this week by 1 MMT to 40 MMT

SOYBEAN

- Feb 2 - South Korea’s Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corp seeks a total 12,000 MT of non-GM soybeans for March 25-April 10 arrival

- Jan 24 - USDA announced export sales of 132,000 MT of US soybean cake and meal for delivery to Philippines during 2017/18

- Jan 24 - Philippines bought 135,000 MT of US soybean meal and 45,000 MT of Argentine soybean meal for May-July

- Dr. Michael Cordonnier lowered his forecast of Argentina’s 2017/18 soybean crop this week by 1 MMT to 52 MMT

- Japan's December soybean imports fell 25.3% on year to 185,654 MT, incl. 160,366 MT from the US (down by 27.9%). For the full year of 2017, Japan has imported 3.218 MMT of soybeans, up 2.8% from year-ago (2.349 MMT from US, up 4.9% y/y)
