WHEAT

- Oct 12 - Japan seeks 106,045 MT of food wheat for Nov-Jan shipments:

  • 13,300 MT of western white US wheat;
  • 20,875 MT of hard red winter US wheat;
  • 35,740 MT of Canadian western red spring wheat;
  • 36,130 MT of Australian standard white wheat

- Oct 10 - Egypt’s GASC seeks an unspecified amount of wheat from global suppliers for Nov 20-30 shipment

- Kazakh farmers harvested 21.6 MMT of all grains as of Oct 10, up from 21.16 MMT a year ago. Yields totalled 1.42 mt/ha down from 1.5 mt/ha a year ago

CORN

- Oct 9 - Argentina registered 20,743 MT of corn for export

- Three South Korean buyers purchased a total of about 320,000 MT of the US or South American corn in a series of separate deals in the last two weeks:

  • Korea Feed Association (KFA) bought:
    • 63,000 MT at 185.9 $/mt c&f for Jan 10 arrival in South Korea;
    • 60,000 MT at 186.24 $/mt c&f for Jan 25 arrival.
  • Feed Leaders' Committee (FLC) purchased:
    • 63,000 MT at 187.49 $/mt c&f for Jan 10 arrival;
    • 65,000 MT at 184.95 $/mt c&f for Jan 30 arrival.
  • Major Feedmill Group (MFG) bought 69,000 MT at 184.50 $/mt c&f for Feb 5 arrival

SOYBEAN

- Oct 9 - Argentina registered for export 8,000 MT of soybean oil, 15,030 MT of soymeal and 6,000 MT of sunflower meal

- Safras & Mercado etimated Brazilian farmers sold 14% of the expected 2017/18 soybean crop by Oct 9 versus 22% last year and vs. 5-year average pace of 26%. They also said some 20 MMT of old crop soybeans have yet to be sold by Brazilian farmers

- MPOB estimated Malaysian crude palm oil production in September at 1.78 MMT, below average expectation of 1.84 MMT and down 1.7% from 1.811 MMT in August with end-stocks at the highest level since February 2016 of 2.019 MMT, up 4% on month, and matching the average market expectation of 2 MMT. Malaysian September palm oil exports rose by 1.8% to 1.515 MMT, but behind of the average expectation of 1.6 MMT

- Surveyor Intertek Testing Services estimated Malaysia's October 1-10 palm oil exports at 448,349 MT up 18.1% from a month ago

- Surveyor SGS estimated Malaysia's October 1-10 palm oil exports at 462,082 MT up 16.5% from a month ago
