WHEAT

- Aug 4 - Argentina registered 80,503 MT of wheat for export

- Aug 3 - Argentina registered 61,700 MT of wheat for export

- Traders have in recent weeks bought about 300,000 MT of Ukrainian wheat, 11.5% protein, at between 210 and 217 $/mt c&f to be delivered to India in September and October. This year, traders expect India's demand for imported wheat to slow to about 2-3 MMT. Importers shipped in close to 5 MMT of wheat to India in the year to June 2017

- Ukrainian farmers harvested 22 MMT of wheat from 86% of the planned area as of August 4, down from 23.9 MMT a year ago. Yields totalled 4.01 mt/ha versus 4.19 mt/ha a year ago

- Russia’s Ag Min said Russia exported about 2.645 MMT of grain between July 1-Aug 2, 2017/18, up by 20.7% from 2.192 MMT a year ago, including:

  • wheat – 1.553 MMT (1.68 MMT in 2016/17);
  • barley – 677 TMT (465 TMT);
  • corn – 400 TMT (25 TMT);
  • others – 15 TMT (22 TMT)

- Russia has 3,989,400 MT of grain in its federal intervention fund as of Aug 4 vs. 3,259,900 MT a year-ago

- Russian farmers harvested 37.44 MMT of wheat from 30.6% of the planned area as of Aug 3, down from 39.2 MMT a year ago. Yields totalled 4.38 mt/ha up from 3.97 mt/ha a year ago

- Kazakh farmers harvested 1.293 MMT of all grains as of August 5, down from 1.314 MMT a year ago. Yields totalled 2.03 mt/ha up from 2.17 mt/ha a year ago

- Informa Economics estimated US all-wheat production at 1.69 billion bushels (45.99 MMT) including 360 mln bu (9.8 MMT) of spring wheat other than durum, and 54 mln bu (1.47 MMT) of durum wheat

- FranceAgriMer said that French farmers harvested 91% of soft wheat as of July 31 vs. 85% a week ago and 59% a year ago

- Buenos Aires Grain Exchange kept its estimate of Argentine 2017/18 wheat crop area at 5.4 mln ha (5.1 mln ha in 2016/17). Exchange estimates 95.3% of the crop has been planted as of August 3 vs. 91.9% this time last year

- Stocks of wheat at Argentine grain storage and processing companies totalled 3.96 MMT at the end of June 2017, up by 1% from a year-ago (3.922 MMT in June 2016)

CORN

- Aug 4 - China sold 826,029 MT of 2014 corn from state reserves, or 28.7% of the offered amount (2.875 MMT), at average price of 1,406 RMB/mt (209 $/mt)

- Aug 4 - Argentina registered 20,120 MT of corn for export

- Aug 3 - Argentina registered 125,515 MT of corn for export

- Informa Economics cut its US 2017 corn production forecast to 13.852 billion bushels (351.86 MMT) from 14.166 billion in July. Informa also lowered its corn yield estimate to 165.9 bushels per acre from its July figure of 169.7 bpa

- Ukrainian farmers harvested 7.4 MMT of barley from 89% of the planned area as of August 4, down from 9.2 MMT a year ago. Yields totalled 3.32 mt/ha down from 3.36 mt/ha a year ago

- Ukrainian farmers harvested 1.1 MMT of peas from 97% of the planned area as of August 4, up from 738 TMT a year ago. Yields totalled 2.64 mt/ha versus 3.17 mt/ha a year ago

- Russian farmers harvested 4.88 MMT of barley from 16.8% of the planned area as of August 3, down from 6.09 MMT a year ago. Yields totalled 3.61 mt/ha up from 3.28 mt/ha a year ago

- FranceAgriMer estimated French corn condition as of July 31 as 79% in good to excellent, down 1% point from the prior week, but above the year-ago score of 70%

- FranceAgriMer said that French farmers harvested 94% of spring barley as of July 31 vs. 80% a week ago and 42% a year ago

- Buenos Aires Grain Exchange maintains its forecast for Argentina's 2016/17 corn crop at 39 MMT, up 30% vs. 30 MMT in 2015/16. Harvesting of Argentine corn crop was 68.7% completed as of Aug 3 vs. last year’s pace of 66.1%

- Buenos Aires Grain Exchange maintains Argentina’s 2017/18 barley acreage estimate at 800,000 ha (850,000 ha in 2016/17). About 89.2% of the crop has been planted as of Aug 3 vs. 75.4% this time last year

- Stocks of corn at Argentine grain storage and processing companies totalled 3.394 MMT at the end of June 2017, up by 58.4% from a year-ago

- Stocks of barley at Argentine grain storage and processing companies totalled 1.022 MMT at the end of June 2017, down by 17.2% from a year-ago

SOYBEAN

- Aug 3 - Argentina registered for export 93,000 MT of soybeans, 49,000 MT of soymeal and 35,500 MT of soybean oil

- Aug 3 - Argentina registered for export 7,000 MT of sunflower meal

- Informa Economics lowered US 2017 soybeans production estimate to 4.196 billion bushels (114.2 MMT) from July forecast of 4.253 billion. It trimmed soy yield estimate to 47.3 bpa from 47.9 bpa in July

- Abiove raised its forecasts of Brazil's 2017 soybean crop from 113.2 to 113.8 MMT and exports from 63 to 64 MMT

- Safras & Mercado says Brazilian farmers sold 74% of the record 2016/17 soybean crop by August 4 versus 86% last year and vs. 5-year average pace of 84%. Also they estimate some 7.6% of the expected 2017/18 Brazil soy harvest has been forward sold compared to the 18% in the year earlier period and the long-term average of 15%

- Buenos Aires Grain Exchange expects Argentina’s 2017/18 sunflower seed acreage will rise to 1.8 mln ha (1.7 mln ha in 2016/17). About 4.9% of the crop has been planted as of Aug 3 vs. 3.7% this time last year

- Stocks of soybeans at Argentine grain storage and processing companies totalled 14.355 MMT at the end of June 2017, down by 8.1% from a year-ago

- Stocks of sunseed at Argentine grain storage and processing companies are estimated at 1.018 MMT at the end of June 2017, up by 52% from a year-ago

- Ukrainian farmers harvested 2 MMT of rapeseed from 94% of the planned area as of August 4, up from 1.1 MMT a year ago. Yields totalled 2.74 mt/ha versus 2.62 mt/ha a year ago

- Russian farmers harvested 251,300 MT of rapeseed from 12.1% of the planned area as of August 3, up from 132,400 MT a year ago. Yields totalled 2.03 mt/ha vs. 2.00 mt/ha a year ago
